Raja Radhika Raman Prasad Sinha (1890-1971) was a Bihari zamindar, prominent writer of Hindi literature, as well as a Padma Bhushan awardee. [1] Born into a royal family in the district of Shahabad, in the Indian state of Bihar on 10 September, 1890 as the eldest son of Raja Rajrajeshwari Sinha, he was the pioneer of Hindi fiction and authored several books including The Gandhi Cap and Other Short Stories, Purush Nari, and Purva Aur Paschim. [2] [3] When he was 12 years old, his father died in 1903 and his entire estate came under the control of the Court of Wards. [4] He was a friend of Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna and gave him Rs. 2000 for business purposes in the late 1940s. [5] He was the secretary of Bihar's United Party, a party representing the interests of the zamindars. [6] He was awarded the Padma Bhushan in 1962, and was bestowed a honorary D.Litt. degree by Magadh University in 1969. [7] [8]
Sahajanand Saraswati was an ascetic, a nationalist and a peasant leader of India. Although born in United Provinces, his social and political activities focussed mostly on Bihar in the initial days, and gradually spread to the rest of India with the formation of the All India Kisan Sabha. He had set up an ashram at Bihta, near Patna, Bihar carried out most of his work in the later part of his life from there. He was an intellectual, prolific writer, social reformer and revolutionary.

Vaman Narayan Joshi also known as Daji was an Indian freedom fighter and revolutionary from Maharashtra. He is known for his involvement in the assassination of Nashik's district collector, A. M. T. Jackson, as Joshi trained Anant Laxman Kanhere, who carried out the killing of Jackson. Following Jackson's assassination, Joshi was arrested and sentenced to life imprisonment.
