Rajesh Jha is a Nepali politician and former Governor of Madhesh Province. [1] He is a journalist and an advocate. He has completed Bachelor's level in law and also has done PhD from Tribhuvan University. [2]
Dev Raj Joshi is a Nepalese politician,belonging to the Nepali Congress. He was Appointed Governor,as per the Article 163 (2) of the Constitution of Nepal by the President Bidya Devi Bhandari on the recommendation of the Council of Ministers of the Government of Nepal on 9 November 2021. In the 2008 Constituent Assembly election he was elected from the Bajura-1 constituency,winning 19271 votes.

Madhesh Province is a province of Nepal in the Terai region with an area of 9,661 km2 (3,730 sq mi) covering about 6.5% of the country's total area. It has a population of 6,126,288 as per the 2021 Nepal census,making it Nepal's most densely populated province and the smallest province by area. It borders Koshi Pradesh to the east and the north,Bagmati Province to the north,and India’s Bihar state to the south and the west. The border between Chitwan National Park and Parsa National Park acts as the provincial boundary in the west,and the Kosi River forms the provincial border in the east. The province includes eight districts,from Parsa in the west to Saptari in the east.
Karnali Province is one of the seven federal provinces of Nepal formed by the new constitution,which was adopted on 20 September 2015. The total area of the province is 27,984 square kilometres (10,805 sq mi),making it the largest province in Nepal with 18.97% of the country's area. According to the 2011 Nepal census,the population of the province was 1,570,418,making it the least populous province in Nepal. The province borders the Tibet Autonomous Region of China to the north,Gandaki Province to the east,Sudurpashchim Province to the west,and Lumbini Province to the south. Birendranagar with a population of 154,886 is both the province's capital and largest city.

In the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal,a governor is the constitutional head of each of the seven provinces. The governor is appointed by the president of Nepal recommended by federal cabinet for a term of five years,and holds office at the president's pleasure. The governor is de jure head of the provincial government;all its executive actions are taken in the governor's name. However,the governor must act on the advice of the popularly elected council of ministers,headed by the chief minister,which thus holds de facto executive authority at the province-level. The Constitution of Nepal also empowers the governor to act upon his or her own discretion,such as the ability to appoint or dismiss a ministry,recommend president's rule for the president's assent.

Mohammad Lalbabu Raut from Federal Socialist Forum,Nepal was sworn in the Chief Ministers of Madhesh Province in February 2018. Present arrangement of cabinet is the result of talk between two Former Deputy Prime Ministers,PSP-N President Upendra Yadav and Nepali Congress Vice-president Bimalendra Nidhi who have strong hold in this region from their respective parties.

The first Gandaki Provincial Assembly was elected by the 2017 provincial elections. 60 members were elected to the assembly,36 of whom were elected through direct elections and 24 of whom were elected through the party list proportional representation system. The term of the assembly started on 4 February 2018 and ended in September 2022. Prithvi Subba Gurung from the CPN (UML) and Krishna Chandra Nepali Pokharel from the Nepali Congress served as chief ministers during the term of the assembly. Netra Nath Adhikari served as the speaker of the assembly and Srijana Sharma served as the deputy speaker.
