Ramona Andra Langley is an American electronic musician from Portland, Oregon. She has released music under her primary Vektroid alias, as well as others, such as dstnt, Laserdisc Visions, New Dreams Ltd., Virtual Information Desk, and PrismCorp Virtual Enterprises. [1] Langley played a prominent role in the popularization of the vaporwave subgenre with the release of her ninth studio album, Floral Shoppe , under the alias Macintosh Plus. Since then, she has continued to release music through Bandcamp and other online platforms.
Langley began producing and releasing electronic music in 2005. She has released music through aliases, including Macintosh Plus, PrismCorp, and Laserdisc Visions, among others. [1] She reports that she has put out over forty releases since 2005. Paolo Scarpa characterized Langley's music as an "exposé of late capitalism". [2] James Parker noted Vektroid's "sensuous virtuality" and "new cyber-pop unconscious". [3] Writing for Sputnikmusic, Adam Downer called Floral Shoppe a shift toward beauty in an age that has nearly "run the gamut of what artists and musicians can do". [4]
Tiny Mix Tapes ranked Floral Shoppe and 札幌コンテンポラリー , released by Langley under her Macintosh Plus and 情報デスクVIRTUAL aliases, respectively, on its list of its 50 favorite albums of 2012. [2] [3] Fact magazine called Floral Shoppe the defining album of Bandcamp, the streaming service through which Vektroid releases her music. The album is the site's most user-recommended album in the experimental music category. [5]
Langley stopped releasing music regularly in early 2013, only releasing two albums of that year, Home™ and ClearSkies™ . Both albums were released under the PrismCorp Virtual Enterprises pseudonym in April. In 2014, Langley released Initiation Tape: Isle of Avalon Edition , a revision of her release Initiation Tape - Part One, as New Dreams Ltd. In early 2015, she collaborated with electronic duo Magic Fades to produce a remix of the song "Ecco" from their debut album, Push Through. [6] In February 2016 she released three albums, Fuji Grid TV EX , Shader Complete and Sleepline . The first two are revisions of some of her albums, while the last one was produced in 2013 but never released previously. [7]
Under various aliases, Langley played a role in the creation of the modern electronic genre vaporwave between 2010 and 2013. [8] [9] Her projects, Macintosh Plus and New Dreams Ltd., are considered as the primary artists in the vaporwave genre. [10] [11]
Langley resides in Portland, Oregon. [12] She is a trans woman. [13] She was diagnosed with autism in February 2024. [14]

Vaporwave is a microgenre of electronic music and a subgenre of hauntology, a visual art style, and an Internet meme that emerged in the early 2010s, and became well-known in 2015. It is defined partly by its slowed-down, chopped and screwed samples of smooth jazz, 1970s elevator music, R&B, and lounge music from the 1980s and 1990s. The surrounding subculture is sometimes associated with an ambiguous or satirical take on consumer capitalism and pop culture, and tends to be characterized by a nostalgic or surrealist engagement with the popular entertainment, technology and advertising of previous decades. Visually, it incorporates early Internet imagery, late 1990s web design, glitch art, anime, stylized Ancient Greek or Roman sculptures, 3D-rendered objects, and cyberpunk tropes in its cover artwork and music videos.
Floral Shoppe is the ninth studio album by the American electronic musician Ramona Andra Langley under the alias Macintosh Plus, released on December 9, 2011 by the independent record label Beer on the Rug. It was one of the first releases of the 2010s microgenre known as vaporwave to gain popular recognition on the Internet.
Home™ is the thirteenth studio album by American electronic musician Vektroid, released on April 20, 2013 by Beer on the Rug. Released simultaneously alongside ClearSkies™ under her PrismCorp alias, both albums contrast with her previous releases, which had a primary focus on samples. The two albums consist primarily of original MIDI-styled compositions, much akin to computer and video game music released during the 1990s and 2000s; Home™ additionally incorporates original MIDI covers of obscure music into its release, and it has been the first Vektroid release to use the PrismCorp Virtual Enterprises alias.
ClearSkies™ is the fourteenth studio album by American electronic musician Vektroid, released on April 20, 2013 by PrismCorp and Beer on the Rug. The album was released simultaneously with her previous PrismCorp album Home™.
Chuck Person's Eccojams Vol. 1 is a 2010 album of remixes by American electronic musician Daniel Lopatin under the pseudonym Chuck Person. Its tracks consist of chopped, looped samples of various songs—including popular songs from the 1980s and 1990s—processed with effects such as delay, reverb, and pitch shifting; the results highlight mournful or existential moments from the sources. It was used as an initial template for the vaporwave internet microgenre.
New Dreams Ltd. is the third studio album by American electronic musician Vektroid under the alias Laserdisc Visions released on July 1, 2011. The album is an early example of the genre vaporwave.
Shader is the twelfth album by electronic musician Vektroid. The album's musical style incorporates more drone and ambient influences compared to previous Vektroid vaporwave releases, and also includes elements of progressive electronic and new-age music.
札幌コンテンポラリー is the tenth studio album by the American electronic musician Vektroid under the alias 情報デスクVIRTUAL, released on April 20, 2012 by the independent record label Beer on the Rug. These albums are some of Vektroid's more obscure work as they have never been uploaded to her Bandcamp or SoundCloud pages in their original forms. Select tracks on the albums would later be reused for Initiation Tape: Isle of Avalon Edition, a rework of the original Initiation Tape, released on the same day as the original esc不在 albums. The albums are not as popular as others, such as Floral Shoppe.
Prism Genesis is an extended play by American electronic and vaporwave artist Vektroid under the alias Fuji Grid TV released on August 2, 2011. The EP was first released through Tumblr on the same day as Black Horse / MIDI Dungeon, and Initiation Tape which Prism Genesis was promoted along as an "A-side" companion. The EP is a chopped and screwed collage of various Japanese commercials taken from the 1980s, and is considered by fans to be one of the first Vaporwave releases to have a Signalwave aesthetic.

Released on 2 October 2014, its nine tracks use samples of elevator music to explore shopping malls. Following the success of Hiraeth (2014), Elzinga drew inspiration from the "vaporwave vibe" he felt in the video game Grand Theft Auto V (2013), and produced Palm Mall as his first "serious try" at a mallsoft release.
