The Governor of the State of Pernambuco is the chief executive of the state of Pernambuco. The governor is the head of the executive branch of Pernambuco's state government. The officeholder is afforded the courtesy title of His/Her Excellency while in office. The incumbent governor is Raquel Lyra, affiliated to the Brazilian Social Democracy Party (PSDB). Lyra won the 2022 Pernambuco gubernatorial election and was sworn in as the 58th governor of the state of Pernambuco on January 1, 2023.
The Bahia gubernatorial election was held on 5 October 2014 to elect the next governor of the state of Bahia. If no candidate receives more than 50% of the vote, a second-round runoff election will be held on 26 October. Governor Jaques Wagner is ineligible to run due to term limits. In a stunning upset, the PT nominee Rui Costa won the election with 54.5% of valid votes against 37.3% of Paulo Souto in the first-round.

The 2022 Pernambuco state elections took place in the state of Pernambuco, Brazil on 2 October 2022. Voters elected a governor, vice governor, one senator, 25 representatives for the Chamber of Deputies, and 49 Legislative Assembly members. Paulo Câmara, the incumbent governor of Pernambuco, was reelected in the first round in 2018 Pernambuco gubernatorial election, with 1,918,219 votes, the equivalent to 50.70% of the valid votes. He wasn't eligible for a new term, since he ran for governor in 2014 and 2018. In a crowded field, former mayor of Caruaru Raquel Lyra (PSDB) defeated Federal Deputy Marília Arraes (Solidarity) by close to 20 points in the second round. She was inaugurated on 1 January 2023.

Celina Leão Hizim Ferreira is a Brazilian business administrator and politician affiliated to the Progressistas (PP), who currently serves as the vice-governor of the Federal District and was the acting governor after the removal of Ibaneis Rocha for 90 days by the Supreme Federal Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes. Ibaneis was removed after being accused of ignoring security flaws during the 2023 Brazilian Congress attack. The decision to remove Ibaneis from office ended up being endorsed in plenary of the Supreme Federal Court by 9 votes to 2, but it was later revoked by Alexandre de Moraes on 15 March 2023.
