The Governor of the State of Pernambuco is the chief executive of the state of Pernambuco. The governor is the head of the executive branch of Pernambuco's state government. The officeholder is afforded the courtesy title of His/Her Excellency while in office. The incumbent governor is Raquel Lyra, affiliated to the Brazilian Social Democracy Party (PSDB). Lyra won the 2022 Pernambuco gubernatorial election and was sworn in as the 58th governor of the state of Pernambuco on January 1, 2023.

Flávio Dino de Castro e Costa is a Brazilian attorney, politician and professor. A former federal judge, Dino was elected to the Chamber of Deputies in 2006 under the Communist Party banner, serving a four-year term until 2011, representing the state of Maranhão. He was elected as the governor of Maranhão after running in the 2014 election. He became the governor of Maranhão on 1 January 2015. He was reelected in 2018. In 2021, Dino left the Communist Party to join the Socialist Party, and was appointed Minister of Justice by President Lula.

Leite was elected governor at 33 years old, becoming the youngest governor in Brazil. In July 2021, Leite came out as gay during an interview for the Brazilian talk show Conversa com Bial, becoming the first openly gay governor in Brazil's history.

Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and Geraldo Alckmin were inaugurated as 39th president of Brazil and 26th vice president, respectively, on 1 January 2023, in a ceremony held in the National Congress in Brasília, beginning the third Lula administration. Celina Leão Hizim Ferreira is a Brazilian business administrator and politician affiliated to the Progressistas (PP), who currently serves as the vice-governor of the Federal District and was the acting governor after the removal of Ibaneis Rocha for 90 days by the Supreme Federal Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes. Ibaneis was removed after being accused of ignoring security flaws during the 2023 Brazilian Congress attack. The decision to remove Ibaneis from office ended up being endorsed in plenary of the Supreme Federal Court by 9 votes to 2, but it was later revoked by Alexandre de Moraes on 15 March 2023.
