Ren Ziwei (born 3 June 1997) is a Chinese short track speed-skater. [1] He won a bronze medal in men's 1500 meters in 2014 World Junior Championships in Erzurum,Turkey. With his three teammates Chen Guang,Xu Fu and Sui Xin,he had also won the gold medal in men's 3000 meter relay race. [2] Ren competed in the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics,and won gold in the men's 1000 meters,while his compatriot Li Wenlong took the silver. [3] Ren along with his teammates Wu Dajing,Qu Chunyu and Fan Kexin,had also won the gold medal in the 2000 meters mixed relay event. [4]

Short-track speed skating is a form of competitive ice speed skating. In competitions,multiple skaters skate on an oval ice track with a length of 111.111 metres (364.54 ft). The rink itself is 60 metres (196.85 ft) long by 30 metres (98.43 ft) wide,which is the same size as an Olympic-sized figure skating rink and an international-sized ice hockey rink. Related sports include long-track speed skating and inline speed skating.

Charles Hamelin is a Canadian retired short track speed skater. In a competitive career that spanned nearly twenty years on the international circuit,Hamelin participated in five Winter Olympic Games and won six Olympic medals,including a national-best four gold medals. Competing in all distances,he won thirty-eight medals at the World Championships,including fourteen gold medals,and also led Canada to five world relay titles. Hamelin was also the 2014 Overall World Cup season winner and the 2018 Overall World Champion,giving him all the achievements available in the sport.

The 1995 World Short Track Speed Skating Championships were held from 17 to 19 March 1995 at the Gjøvik Olympic Cavern Hall in Gjøvik,Norway. They were the twentieth World Short Track Speed Skating Championships and the first to be held in Norway. It consisted of ten events,five for men and five for women,including one relay each. The overall winner of the men's races was South Korea's Chae Ji-hoon,who won three of the men's four individual events,with the last gold going to Canada's Marc Gagnon. In the women's events,South Korea's Chun Lee-kyung won ahead of China's Wang Chunlu,with both winning two individual races. The men's relay was won by Canada,while the women's relay was won by China. The overall medal table was topped by South Korea with five first places and twelve medals overall.

Christopher Creveling is an American short track speed skater who represented the United States at the 2014 Winter Olympics. Growing up,his family owned a roller rink and was highly involved in the sport of roller skating. Creveling followed in the footsteps of his older siblings,learning to skate as soon as he could walk. He was selected for the 2003 United States' Junior World roller skating team in 2003 and for the Senior World Team from 2004 to 2006. At the 2004 World Championships,he won a gold medal as part of the US relay team.

He has won one gold and one bronze as part of the Hungarian team in short track speed skating relays at the 2018 and 2022 Winter Olympics. He has chosen to change nationality that may allow him to compete for China in 2024.

Shaoang Liu is a Hungarian-born Olympic gold medalist short track speed skater. He is the younger brother of teammate Shaolin Sándor Liu,and has won two golds and two bronzes represent Hungary at the Winter Olympics in 2018 and 2022 Winter Olympics in short track speed skating. The gold medals were the first ever team gold,and the first ever individual gold at the Winter Olympics for Hungary. He changed his nationality and may represent China after 2023.
Lin Xiaojun,born Lim Hyo-jun,is a South Korean-born Chinese short track speed skater. He is the 2018 champion of the Men's 1500 m event in short track speed skating at the Winter Olympics,and also set the new Olympic record for the event. Originally starting as a swimmer,Lim took up skating at a young age. Despite multiple injuries early on in his career,he notably won gold at the 2012 Winter Youth Olympics upon his international debut in the Boys' 1000 m event. He would later win the 1000 m and 1500 m events in the Budapest leg of the 2017–18 ISU Short Track Speed Skating World Cup and earn selection for the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang. Upon his Olympic debut,Lim won the gold medal,setting a new Olympic record of 2:10.485 in the process,beating Lee Jung-su's previous record set at the 2010 games.
John-Henry Krueger is an American-born,naturalised Hungarian that has represented both countries in his sporting events in short track speed skating. He was an American national champion in the 500-,1,000-,and 1,500-meter events. He competed for the U.S. in the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang in all men's individual events and in the 5,000-meter team relay event,winning the silver medal in the men's 1,000-meter event. He left U.S. Speedskating after a history of tensions for the stated reason of unmet financial need,switching his allegiance to Hungary in 2018 in time to qualify for Olympic participation in 2022. He earned silver medals for Hungary at the European Championships in Gdansk in the 1,000-meter men's individual event and at the World Championships in Dordrecht in the 5,000-meter relay event. He is competing for Hungary in the 2022 Olympic Games in Beijing,where as of February 11,he had earned a bronze medal in the 2000-meter mixed relay.
Short track speed skating at the 2022 Winter Olympics was held at the Capital Indoor Stadium in Beijing,China. The events took place between 5 and 16 February 2022. A total of nine short track speed skating events were held.

At the 2023 World Single Distances Speed Skating Championships,Stolz won the 500m to become the youngest single distance world champion in history. He also became the first male skater to win three individual gold medals at a single World Single Distances Speed Skating Championships,a feat he repeated in 2024.
