The premier of South Australia is the head of government in the state of South Australia, Australia. The Government of South Australia follows the Westminster system, with a Parliament of South Australia acting as the legislature. The premier is appointed by the governor of South Australia, and by modern convention holds office by virtue of their ability to command the support of a majority of members of the lower house of Parliament, the House of Assembly.

Elizabeth is a single-member electoral district for the South Australian House of Assembly. It first existed from 1970 to 2006, when its boundaries were moved south and east and it was renamed to Little Para. SA-Best, formerly known as Nick Xenophon's SA-BEST, is a political party in South Australia. It was founded in 2017 by Nick Xenophon as a state-based partner to his Nick Xenophon Team party. After an unsuccessful 2022 South Australian state election, the party has one representative in the South Australian Legislative Council, Connie Bonaros, whose term expires in 2026.

Erin Louise Thompson is an Australian politician. She has been a Labor Party member of the South Australian House of Assembly since the 2022 state election, representing Davenport. With a swing of 11.6 per cent, she defeated the Liberal Party member, Steve Murray, who had held the seat since 2018. Until the 2022 state election, Davenport had been held exclusively by Liberal Party members since its creation prior to the 1970 election. According to ABC election analyst Antony Green, prior to the 2022 election the frequent redistributions had little impact on the Liberal margin in Davenport, but there had been a slow narrowing between the Davenport results and the state-wide Liberal two-party-preferred vote.
