Riasti, Bhawalpuri or Cholistani is a dialect of Saraiki language, spoken in Bahawalpur and Rahim Yar Khan districts, located on the banks of the river Sutlej and in the Cholistan Desert of Punjab, Pakistan. Its name is derived from the riast ('state') of Bahawalpur.

New Central Jail Bahawalpur is a jail in Bahawalpur, Pakistan located on Jail Road nearly one kilometer toward east of the Radio Pakistan Bahawalpur. In September 2006, four members of the same family, including one father, his two sons and one brother, were hanged to death in this jail. The jail has been declared as Model Jail by the Government of the Punjab, Home Department in the year 2010.

Fareed Express is a passenger train operated daily by Pakistan Railways between Karachi and Lahore. The trip takes approximately 26 hours and 45 minutes to cover a published distance of 1,214 kilometres (754 mi), traveling along a stretch of the Karachi–Peshawar Railway Line and Lodhran–Raiwind Branch Line. The train named after Baba Fareed Shakar Ganj, a famous Sufi saint and Punjabi poet who lived in Pakpattan between 1173–1266.

<i>Tezrao</i>

Tezrao was a daily express train (5-Up/6-Down) service in Pakistan. The train ran between Karachi and Peshawar. Its name was changed to Zulfiqar Express during the Peoples Party government. After the Peoples Party government its name changed again to Tezrao. The train had economy and first-class sleeper accommodation. It was suspended on 20 July 2010 due to lack of locomotives.

Cholistani is a zebu breed of Punjab in Pakistan and India primarily used in dairy production. Cholistani originated from the Cholistan Desert area, particularly from Rahim Yar Khan, Bahawalpur and Bahawalnagar. This is a recently discovered breed and is thought to have been result of crossing of Sahiwal with other local breeds.
