Rib Mountain is a mountain that straddles the border between the municipalities of Latchford, Timiskaming District and Temagami, Nipissing District in Northeastern Ontario, Canada. It divides Friday Lake on the east and Rib Lake on the west. [2]

The Temagami Greenstone Belt (TGB) is a small 2.7 billion year old greenstone belt in the Temagami region of Northeastern Ontario, Canada. It represents a feature of the Superior craton, an ancient and stable part of the Earth's lithosphere that forms the core of the North American continent and Canadian Shield. The belt is composed of metamorphosed volcanic rocks that range in composition from basalt to rhyolite. These form the east-northeast trend of the belt and are overlain by metamorphosed sedimentary rocks. They were created during several volcanic episodes involving a variety of eruptive styles ranging from passive lava eruptions to viscous explosive eruptions.

Beanland Mine, also known as Clenor Mine, is an abandoned surface and underground mine in Northeastern Ontario, Canada. It is located about 1 km (0.62 mi) west of Arsenic Lake and 4 km (2.5 mi) northwest of the town of Temagami in central Strathy Township. It is named after Sydney Beanland, who first claimed the mine site in the 1920s and was a director for the mine from 1937 to 1938.

Big Dan Mine is an abandoned underground mine in Northeastern Ontario, Canada. It is located about 1 km (0.62 mi) southwest of Net Lake and just west of the Ontario Northland Railway in east-central Strathy Township. It is named after Dan O'Connor, who first claimed the site in the 1890s.

The Iceland Lake Pluton, formerly known as the Ingall Lake Batholith, is a large granitic intrusion in Briggs and Strathcona townships of Temagami, Northeastern Ontario, Canada. It is one of the three separate granitoid intrusions that constitute the Temagami Greenstone Belt, consisting of rocks ranging from diorite to quartz monzonite. The age of the intrusion is estimated to be about 2,736 million years old, as well as an adjacent rhyolitic lava flow using the uranium–lead dating technique. This suggests that the Iceland Lake Pluton might be the remnants of a magma chamber of a volcano that erupted felsic magma. The pluton is overlain by sediments of the younger Huronian Supergroup.

The Tetapaga Syncline, also known as the Lake Tetapaga Syncline, is a northeasterly trending syncline in Northeastern Ontario, Canada, located in Strathy Township of the municipality of Temagami. It represents a major structural feature in the Temagami Greenstone Belt, with dark green, massive and pillowed iron-rich tholeiitic basalts forming its core.

It extends along the northeast arm of Lake Temagami. The Link Lake Deformation Zone just to the north is interpreted to be an extension of the Northeast Arm Deformation Zone.

The Tasse Lake Deformation Zone is a zone of deformation in Temagami, Ontario, Canada, extending from the western boundary of Chambers Township through Tasse Lake in the east. Its structure is at least 0.5 km (0.31 mi) wide and 3 km (1.9 mi) long, although it remains uncertain if it extends east of Tasse Lake.

Daniel O'Connor was a Canadian politician, entrepreneur and prospector from Pembroke, Canada West. In the late 1880s, O'Connor moved to Sudbury, where he became a sawmill operator and was elected the town's second mayor in 1894. Recognizing the potential for tourism in the area of Temagami, he founded the Temagami Hotel and Steamboat Company in 1903, which operated the Temagami Inn, the Lady Evelyn Hotel, the Ronnoco Hotel and a number of steamboats, including the Belle of Temagami.

The Danlou Occurrence, also known as the Danlou Gold Occurrence and the Mortimer Occurrence, is a mineralized zone in Northeastern Ontario, Canada. Gold is the occurrence's primary commodity, while copper and silver are secondary commodities. It occurs in a quartz vein within a diabase-porphyry shear zone. Pyrite and chalcopyrite are present in small amounts.

Devil Mountain, sometimes mistakenly called Devil's Mountain, is a wooded mountain in the Municipality of Temagami, Northeastern Ontario, Canada. It overlies Devil Island in Lake Temagami with an elevation of 375 m (1,230 ft) above sea level. A short trail from Angus Point leads to an overlook some 76 m (249 ft) above Lake Temagami. From here, Maple Mountain can be seen on a clear day.
