The Ven. Richard Betts Ninis (25 October 1931 - 15 October 2014) [1] was Archdeacon of Lichfield and Canon Treasurer of Lichfield Cathedral from 1974 [2] to 1998. [3]

The Archdeacon of Lichfield is a senior cleric in the Diocese of Lichfield who is responsible for pastoral care and discipline of clergy in the Lichfield archdeaconry.

Ninis was educated at Lincoln College, Oxford. After a curacy at All Saints, Poplar he was Vicar of St Martin, Hereford from 1962 to 197. He was Diocesan Missioner for Hereford from 1971 to 74. [4] He was Chairman of the USPG from 1988 to 1991. [5]

Poplar is a district in East London, England, and is the administrative centre of the London Borough of Tower Hamlets, and is a part of the East End and the Port of London, and is 5 miles east of Charing Cross and is in East London, and has a long shoreline along London's Tideway, part of the River Thames and forms the eastern and northeastern side of the Isle of Dogs. It is identified as a major district centre in the London Plan with it district centre being Chrisp Street Market, which forms a significant commercial and retail centre surrounded by extensive residential development and includes Poplar Baths, Blackwall Yard and Trinity Buoy Wharf. It also has two localities, Blackwall and South Bromley.
