Rileyhill is a hamlet [2] in the parish of King's Bromley, in the Lichfield district, in the county of Staffordshire, England. [3] It lies in the Trent Valley and midway between Lichfield and Kings Bromley. It is also close to the hamlet of Bromley Hayes and the Trent and Mersey Canal.
Rileyhill is linked to the nearby village of Kings Bromley due to its importance in the distribution of milk. Which was transported to the village by horse-drawn wagon. From there the milk was distributed to other major towns and cities in the country. [4] This also links the hamlet to the former creamery at nearby Bromley Hayes.
Today, Rileyhill is a small scattered hamlet with a few farms and private residences. The main A515 road passes through the hamlet. [5]
Rileyhill was home to "Bromley Hayes Garden Centre". It has been closed since 2021 although its restaurant occasionally operates. In 2022, permission was sought to demolition the garden centre for a new development. This was turned down by Lichfield District Council. [6]
A new application was submitted in 2025, it is currently awaiting a decision to be made. [7]
The Trent and Mersey Canal passes to the south of Rileyhill.
