Bromley Hayes was once occupied by a creamery owned and operated by Trent Valley Dairy and Produce Co. Ltd on the Trent and Mersey Canal in 1885. In 1892, the creamery went into bankruptcy and closed. [2] However, in 1896, it was reopened and taken over by Edwards Creameries. [3]
It continued to be operational under the company until it was then purchased by United Creameries. Who continued to operate the creamery at Bromley Hayes until the 1930s, when it was finally closed. [4]

In 2016, the building was sought to be converted into a private residence by the owners although nothing appears to have happened. The building includes a dry-dock and office space. [5]
