Rising Star Indonesia is a reality singing competition of Israeli origin that began airing on RCTI on 28 August 2014. This program is based on the Israeli singing competition, HaKokhav HaBa and produced by Israel-based, Keshet Media, Rising Star . The program's format lets viewers vote for contestants via mobile apps.

This format adds to the list of RCTI singing competitions along with Indonesian Idol and X Factor Indonesia . Fabian Dharmawan, the showrunner of said programs, was appointed by the network to produce the show.

The first season of Rising Star Indonesia began airing on 28 August 2014 after auditions in five cities. [1] The finale was held on December 19, 2014. This season's panel of judges (which are referred to as "experts") consisted of Rossa, Judika, Ahmad Dhani, and Bebi Romeo. Millane Fernandez, Lilo and Andien resigned as the former main experts. The season was won by Indah Nevertari. [2] [3]

The second season began airing on 12 December 2016. The season was won by Andmesh Kamaleng after receiving 80% votes in his final performance.

The third season began airing on 17 December 2018 with Judika, Rossa, and Ariel "Noah" returning as experts from previous season, alongside new expert Yovie Widianto. The season was won by Elvan Saragih.

In March 2021, it was announced that Rising Star Indonesia would air a dangdut version that would be broadcast on MNCTV as Rising Star Indonesia Dangdut. [4] [5] The first season was won by Rezki Ramdani after receiving 85% votes in her final performance. [6] The second season was won by Zainul Basyar after receiving 74% votes in his final performance. [7]

The second season of the Indonesian reality talent show The Voice Indonesia premiered February 26, 2016 on the RCTI network in the 9:00 p.m, slot immediately following Tukang Bubur Naik Haji The Series. This is the first aired by RCTI, after the previous broadcaster Indosiar dropped the show after its first one season due to poor ratings. Television personality and Indonesian Idol host Daniel Mananta was appointed as the show's new host, with Ari Lasso, Agnez Mo, Kaka "Slank", and Judika selected as coaches. Coach Ariel "Noah" served as an advisor for all teams during the knockout rounds. The winner of the knockout rounds received a 1 billion rupiahs recording contract with Universal Music Indonesia and a Toyota Yaris AT. Tiara Anugrah Eka Setyo Andini is an Indonesian singer and actress. She was the runner-up of the tenth season of Indonesian Idol which was broadcast by RCTI in 2019–2020. In Idol, she was known as the girl who received a titanium ticket from one of the judges. She is the only titanium ticket recipient to ever make it through to the final round in the history of Indonesian Idol. Lyodra Margareta Ginting, also known mononymously as Lyodra, is an Indonesian singer and actress. She was the winner of the A3 category at the 2017 Sanremo Junior children's international solo singing competition in Sanremo, Italy, and the winner of the tenth season of Indonesian Idol. In both competitions, Lyodra practiced the use of the whistle register, which is the highest range of the human voice. She was listed as the youngest Indonesian Idol champion, at the age of 16 years and 256 days. She was awarded "Best Children Female Solo Artist" from 20th Anugerah Musik Indonesia Awards, and "Best New Asian Artist in Indonesia" from 2021 Mnet Asian Music Award. The first season of Rising Star Indonesia Dangdut aired weekly on MNCTV starting 19 April 2021. The panel of judges consisted of Ayu Ting Ting, Ivan Gunawan, Iyeth Bustami, Pasha Ungu, Danang Pradana Dieva, Anji, Nella Kharisma, Denny Caknan, and Judika. Indra Herlambang and Astrid Tiar were appointed as hosts. The show was produced by MNCTV in-house production. The season was won by Rezki Ramdani who received 85 percent votes in the final round.

Judika Nalom Abadi Sihotang, known mononymously as Judika, is an Indonesian singer and actor. He has released seven albums and received multiple awards including Anugerah Musik Indonesia and Anugerah Planet Muzik. Three of his songs were featured as soundtracks in Indonesian drama series.
