Indonesian Idol is a reality television singing competition created by Simon Fuller and produced by RCTI Production Team and FremantleMedia Asia, which began airing on RCTI in March 2004 and became one of the most popular shows in the history of Indonesian television. Part of the Idol franchise, it was as a spin-off from the UK show Pop Idol.

She is the daughter of Trenggono and Rachma Widadiningsih. At the age of 9, she sang a song for the movie Megaloman. On three years later, she released her first album, Biasa Saja, together with the soundtrack album for Catatan Si Emon. While still in high school, Krisdayanti participated in numerous singing and modelling competitions. In 1991, she was a finalist in the GADIS Sampul competition.

She was a judge on Indonesian Idol from season 1 to 5 and season 8, Golden Memories Vol.1 and 2, Q Academy season 1, The Voice Indonesia season 3 and 4. She is known for the song "Sang Dewi". She was the first Indonesian female singer invited to perform a concert at Marina Bay Sands in Singapore and the first Indonesian singer to make perform seven concerts in a four-day period. She was also the first female coach to win The Voice Indonesia in 2019. In the 80's she widely known with the song Ekspresi (Expression), the jazz fusion hit she collaborated with Indonesian musician Indra Lesmana in 1988. In the 1990s released the song Bahasa Kalbu. In the 2000s she released the songs Sang Dewi, Matamu, Separuh Hidupku, Hanya Cinta Yang Bisa. In early 2010s she released the song "Jangan Biarkan", covering Indonesian singer Diana Nasution. The television channel, RCTI, hosted "Jangan Biarkan Concert" with her album "Titi to Diana". In 2020s she released the song Show Off Your Colors, in collaboration with Eka Gustiwana and Sarah Fajira, and Ashanty. Her latest release was the song "To Lose" as an answer to a netizensl challenge, and she also released a ballad version called "Still Learning".
Dewa 19 is an Indonesian rock band from Surabaya, East Java, led by singer-songwriter Ahmad Dhani. Along with God Bless and Slank, they are dubbed as one of the greatest rock bands in the history of Indonesian popular music. The band was formed in 1986. There have been a number of changes to the lineup that ended in their disbandment in 2011, but then they regrouped in 2019 for comeback reunion shows.

Ratu was an Indonesian music duo formed in 1999 with Maia Estianty, then the wife of musician Ahmad Dhani, on instruments and Pinkan Mambo on vocals. Ratu entered the Indonesian musical scene with their first album, Bersama. After a short break caused by Mambo's departure in 2004, the group formed anew with Mulan Kwok as vocalist. This new line-up proved more successful, with their most successful songs – "Teman Tapi Mesra" and "Lelaki Buaya Darat" ("Womaniser") – released in this period; both song titles later became common terms in the Indonesian vocabulary. The group's second studio album, No. Satu, sold 200,000 copies on the day of its release, a record for an album by an Indonesian female group. The group dissolved in 2007.

The eighth season of Indonesian Idol, also known as Indonesian Idol 2014: A Decade of Dreams, premiered on RCTI on December 27, 2013. Anang Hermansyah and Ahmad Dhani returned as the judges. Agnes Monica was replaced by Tantri of Kotak, and Titi DJ, who returned to the show for her sixth season after her absence in season 6 and 7. Raisa and Indra Lesmana replace Titi and Anang during the Yogyakarta auditions. Later during the Spectacular weeks, Raisa replaced Titi during the Top 9 performances and Tantri during the Top 5. Indra replaced Tantri during the Top 8 performances. Daniel Mananta returns as the host.
