Plot
For years, Khalid Bin Jamal has ruled the Mumbai crime underworld by staying in Bangkok, Thailand. Despite his distance from Mumbai, Khalid is able to control the Mumbai underworld by keeping the ruling members of his network, very close to him. He is extremely ruthless and shows no hesitation or remorse, towards his enemies.
The Indian police have been trying for years to extradite Khalid to India, but in vain. Inspector Suryakant has been in the police force for some time and has been keeping track of Khalid's activities. He makes up his mind to put an end to Khalid's criminal empire and bring Khalid to justice. To do so, he starts carrying out encounters against Jamal's henchmen. Over the course of a few weeks, Khalid's network suffers, as his men are simply killed in encounters and raids by Suryakant, who is supported by DCP Uttam Bhandari.
Khalid becomes increasingly alarmed, but comes up with a counter-plan. He arranges for one of his leading associates, the politician Devki Wardhan, to be attacked, while Suryakant is arresting her. Her opponent, the Home Minister A. R. Sarang has been known to be in favour with Suryakant, and is blackmailed by Khalid, into open-firing on Devki Wardhan. This implicates Suryakant as being an accomplice, to Devki Wardhan's attempted murder, as two of Devki's men are shot dead by Suryakant. Soon, a string of allegations that include taking bribes from different crime lords, is formed against Suryakant. His plan to capture Khalid with bold moves thus backfires, because of Khalid's premeditated scheme.
The Police Commissioner is close to Devki Wardhan and is against Suryakant and tries all the time to suppress him. Suryakant's girlfriend, Shraddha, also does not support him and distances herself from him, due to his involvement with the underworld. Eventually, Suryakant is jailed. He receives messages from Khalid. He is offered back his police officer position, by Khalid, as long as he does his bidding for him. He is also handsomely rewarded, financially. Suryakant starts working energetically for Khalid and wipes out Khalid's sworn enemy, S.P. Naidu's men. Arbaaz, Khalid's hot-headed brother, smells a rat and suspects the designs of Suryakant. He travels to India with Hari, without informing Khalid, to personally deal with Naidu. Arbaaz, along with Hari and Suryakant, go to Naidu, to finish him. He is killed by Arbaaz, but Suryakant reveals his true colours, by killing Arbaaz, Hari, and Home Minister A. R. Sarang. He makes it appear as if Arbaaz had murdered Sarang and Hari.
The supposed death of a Home Minister, at the hands of Khalid's brother, is enough to have Khalid extradited to Mumbai, for trial. However, despite all of Suryakant's painstaking uncovering of Khalid's illicit activities, the Indian police cannot make a firm case against him. Moreover, Khalid heavily bribes the police prosecutor, in his favour. Khalid is sure his case will be dismissed by the Court, and that he will leave India in a day, but before doing so, he wants retribution for Arbaaz's death and orders his men to dispose of Suryakant's comrades in the police force. Shraddha realizes her folly of not being supportive to Suryakant and asks for his apology. Suryakant is told that Shraddha's life is in danger and that she will be killed by Khalid's men. He decides to take the last stand, and sends Shraddha safely, out of the country.
Khalid sends a message for Suryakant to meet him in jail. Before Suryakant has a chance to find out about the murders of DCP Bhandari, Inspector Shridhar and his other close colleagues, Khalid, himself, tells him that he killed them, during their meeting. He also tells Suryakant, that he will go free, despite everything he has done. Suryakant is shocked by the revelation and decides to eliminate Khalid. He storms the heavily guarded jail, where Khalid is being held, and manages to kill him, though he is mortally wounded. Upon seeing Khalid's lifeless body, he smiles.

Vinod Khanna was an Indian actor, film producer and politician who is best known for his work in Hindi films; while also being a notable spiritual seeker. In Bollywood, he was the recipient of two Filmfare awards. Khanna was one of the highest-paid stars of his times, along with Amitabh Bachchan and Rajesh Khanna. He was the only superstar who could compete with Amitabh Bachchan's box office run in late 1970s to early 1980s before taking break from films. Khanna was considered the style icon & fashion icon, often referred as 'Sexy Sanyasi' in media. After joining politics, he became the MP from the Gurdaspur constituency between 1998–2009 and 2014–2017. In July 2002, Khanna became the minister for Culture and Tourism in the Atal Bihari Vajpayee cabinet. Six months later, he became the Minister of State for External Affairs.
Randeep Hooda is an Indian actor, writer, producer, director and equestrian, known for his work predominantly in Hindi cinema and few English films. Hooda made his Hindi film debut with Monsoon Wedding. He had a turning point in his career with the gangster film Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai (2010) and also acted in Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster (2011), Rang Rasiya (2014), Highway (2014) and Sarbjit (2016), Swatantrya Veer Savarkar (2024).

Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai is a 2010 Indian Hindi-language neo-noir crime thriller film written by Rajat Arora and directed by Milan Luthria. It stars Ajay Devgn, Emraan Hashmi, Kangana Ranaut, Prachi Desai and Randeep Hooda. Produced by Ekta Kapoor under the Balaji Motion Pictures banner, Once Upon A Time in Mumbaai was released on 30 July 2010 to generally positive reviews from critics, and was a box office hit. The film is loosely based on the lives of Mumbai underworld gangsters Haji Mastan and Dawood Ibrahim. A sequel, Once Upon ay Time in Mumbai Dobaara!, was released in 2013.

He made his directorial debut with D, which is about the meteoric rise of a fictional underworld don, Deshu, which appears to be loosely based upon Dawood Ibrahim's career. His next film was Risk in which the same actor plays an errant police inspector with Vinod Khanna as villain.
Jeevan Ek Sanghursh is a 1990 Bollywood film directed by Rahul Rawail, produced by D. Rama Naidu. It stars Raakhee, Anil Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit in the leading roles. The film was successful and was the tenth highest grossing Bollywood film of 1990. By titling this film as Jeevan Ek Sanghursh, Rawail paid a tribute to his father's films; Sunghursh (1968), based on a novel written by the Bengali author Mahashweta Devi. The film was set in the 19th century and showcased the lives of bandits and stars actors like Dilip Kumar, Vyjayanthimala, Balraj Sahni, Sanjeev Kumar and Jayant.

Rai and Dhaval Jayantilal Gada under his banner Pen India Limited. The film stars Randeep Hooda and Kajal Aggarwal in the lead roles. It is a remake of the 2011 Korean movie Always, which was previously adapted in 2015 in Kannada as Boxer.
Kohinoor is a 2015 Indian Malayalam-language heist comedy film, set in the late 1980s. The film is directed by Vinay Govind and features Asif Ali and Indrajith Sukumaran in the lead role along with an ensemble cast of Aju Varghese, Chemban Vinod Jose, Vinay Forrt, Aparna Vinod and Shraddha Srinath. It was produced by Asif Ali in his debut film production which was co-produced by Sajin Jaffer and Brijeesh Muhammed under the banner Adam's World of Imagination. Sarbjit is a 2016 Indian Hindi-language biographical drama film directed by Omung Kumar and produced by Pooja Entertainment, T-Series Films and Legend Studios Pvt. Ltd. The film stars Aishwarya Rai Bachchan alongside Randeep Hooda who portrays the role of Sarabjit Singh, an Indian man who was sentenced to death by the Supreme Court of Pakistan in 1991 and spent 22 years in prison for alleged terrorism and spying. Richa Chadda, and Darshan Kumar play supporting roles.

Pradip Sawant is an Indian Police Officer, currently serving as the DCP Security Branch in Mumbai Police. He is a recipient of the President's Police Medal for Meritorious Service in 2002. He was behind more than 300 encounters in Mumbai during his stint as DCP between the years 2000 and 2003.
