Riverside is a small unincorporated community on the border of Davis Township and Logan Township in Fountain County, Indiana, United States.
Riverside was originally called Fountain City, and under the latter name was established in the 1850s when the Wabash Railroad was extended to that point. [3] The post office was established as Riverside in 1872, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1946. [4] [5]
Riverside is located at 40°19′30″N87°09′58″W / 40.32500°N 87.16611°W , a little more than half a mile south of the Wabash River. Independence Station is in Riverside and dates from the time the Wabash Railroad was built to this point in 1854. [3] The larger town of Independence is opposite Riverside on the north bank of the Wabash.
Warren County lies in western Indiana between the Illinois state line and the Wabash River in the United States. According to the 2010 census, the population was 8,508. The county seat is Williamsport.
Fountain County lies in the western part of the U.S. state of Indiana on the east side of the Wabash River. The county was officially established in 1826 and was the 53rd in Indiana. The county seat is Covington.
