Road 39 is a road in Khuzestan. All of this road is expressway. [1] It connects Abadan to Ahvaz and it is used for transit from Abadan port. Then it goes to Shushtar, Northeast of Ahvaz. After that it goes north to Dezful. And at last it goes to north to Andimeshk via expressway.

The Ahvaz bombings was a series of bomb explosions, that took place mostly in Ahvaz, Iran in 2005 and 2006, and were blamed on Ahvaz separatist organizations of Arabs. The bombings were linked to the violent '15 April unrest' in Ahvaz, prior to the bombings. Some 28 people were killed and 225 wounded in Ahvaz bombings.

The First Battle of Khorramshahr was a major battle in the Iran–Iraq War, beginning shortly after the Iraqi invasion of Iran in September 1980. Amidst the gruelling urban warfare in and around the city, Khorramshahr came to be referred to by the Iranians as Khuninshahr, as both sides had suffered heavy casualties in combat. It was the single largest urban battle of the Iran–Iraq war.

Freeway 5 is a freeway in Iran connecting two cities of Tehran and Bandar Imam via Saveh, Arak, Borujerd, Khorramabad, Andimeshk and Ahvaz. This freeway is part of North-South Corridor. It starts from Azadegan Expressway and ends at Bandar Imam. It runs along Road 65, Road 56 and Road 37. The AADT of the section from Ahvaz to Bandar Imam is 15,000, of which 2,500 are Iraqi tankers.

The 2013–14 Hazfi Cup was the 27th season of the Iranian football knockout competition. Sepahan was the defending champion, but was eliminated by Sanat Naft in the Round of 32. The competition started on 4 September 2013 and ended on 14 February 2014. Tractor won the title, defeating Mes Kerman in the final.
