Road 39 is a road in Khuzestan. All of this road is expressway. [1] It connects Abadan to Ahvaz and it is used for transit from Abadan port. Then it goes to Shushtar, Northeast of Ahvaz. After that it goes north to Dezful. And at last it goes to north to Andimeshk via expressway.

The Ahvaz bombings were a series of bomb explosions, that took place mostly in Ahvaz, Iran in 2005 and 2006, and were blamed on Ahvaz separatist organizations of Arabs. The bombings were linked to the violent '15 April unrest' in Ahvaz, prior to the bombings. Some 28 people were killed and 225 wounded in Ahvaz bombings.

The capital of the county is Abadan on Abadan Island. On May 11, 2020 Iran imposed a COVID-19 lockdown in Abadan, County. All shops and offices in the county, except essential services, closed during this period. Authorities also closed access to Abadan from the Ahvaz and Bandar Mahshahr points of entry. These restrictions would expire on May 25.

Petroleum University of Technology

The Petroleum University of Technology is an Iranian public university funded by the Ministry of Petroleum particularly by its main company, the NIOC. It was founded in 1939 in Abadan in response to the increasing industrialization of Iran oil company, and is officially the second oldest university in Iran after University of Tehran and based on The Center for World University Rankings (CWUR), this university has the 7th worldwide rank in oil an gas sector and petroleum engineering. According to QS World University Rankings 2020 for petroleum engineering programs, PUT has not been placed among the top 100 universities. It offers B.Sc., M.S and Doctorate programs for upstream and downstream oil and gas industry such as petroleum engineering, chemical engineering, offshore engineering, instrumentation engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, accounting, and marine engineering.

Battle of Khorramshahr 1980 battle in the Iran–Iraq War

The Battle of Khorramshahr was a major engagement between Iraq and Iran in the Iran–Iraq War. The battle took place from 22 September to 10 November 1980. Widely known for its brutality and violent conditions, Khorramshahr came to be referred to by the Iranians as Khuninshahr.

Lieutenant General Qasem Soleimani is a freeway in Iran connecting two cities of Tehran and Bandar Imam via Saveh, Arak, Borujerd, Khorramabad, Andimeshk and Ahvaz. This freeway is part of North-South Corridor. It starts from Azadegan Expressway and ends at Bandar Imam. It runs along Road 65, Road 56 and Road 37. The AADT of the section from Ahvaz to Bandar Imam is 15000, of which 2500 are Iraqi tankers.

2013–14 Hazfi Cup football tournament season

The 2013–14 Hazfi Cup was the 27th season of the Iranian football knockout competition. Sepahan was the defending champion, but was eliminated by Sanat Naft in Round of 32. The competition started on 4 September 2013 and ended on 14 February 2014. Tractor won the title with defeating Mes Kerman in the final.

The 2018 Iranian water protests were a series of protests by the Iranians living in the cities of Khorramshahr and Abadan, who are protesting the shortage of clean drinking water. The protests started on 20 June in Abadan, before escalating on 30 June in Khorramshahr and turning violent.
