Road 97 is a road in eastern Iran connecting Mashhad to Taybad. This road is very important because it connects Afghanistan to Mashhad and Tehran Road. All parts of this road is part of AH1. [1]

Mashhad County is the most populous county in Razavi Khorasan Province and the second most populous in the country behind Tehran County.

The Imam Reza shrine in Mashhad, Iran, is a complex which contains the mausoleum of Imam Reza, the eighth Imam of Twelver Shias. It is the largest mosque in the world by area. Also contained within the complex are the Goharshad Mosque, a museum, a library, four seminaries, a cemetery, the Razavi University of Islamic Sciences, a dining hall for pilgrims, vast prayer halls, and other buildings.

Road 22 (Iran)

This road is in northern Iran. It connects Sarakhs at the border with Turkmenistan to Mashhad, then to Gorgan, and afterwards it runs parallel to the Caspian Sea. Most parts of this road are expressways but some of them are in the Golestan Jungle.

Freeway 2 in Iran consists of two separate sections, one in northwestern Iran and one in northeastern Iran.

Road 95 is the most important north–south road in eastern Iran. It connects Mashhad to Torbat e Heydariyeh, Birjand, Zahedan and then Chabahar.

Road 68 is a road in central and eastern Iran in dry areas. It connects Yazd in Yazd Province, to Birjand in South Khorasan Province. This road is part of Yazd-Mashhad Road.

Mashhad Urban Railway

Mashhad Urban Railway is a rapid transit urban rail line in Mashhad, Iran. It is the second rapid transit system in Iran. The project has been known by a number of terms, including "light rail" or "light metro" and "urban rail" or "metro", though the system's full-grade separation from traffic and five-minute headway fully qualify it as a rapid transit or "metro" system. Mashhad Urban Railway operates its line 1 from 6 to 22:00 daily. Construction of the second line which is a metro line is ongoing. Limited operation of the first phase of line 2, with 10.1 kilometres (6.3 mi) and 9 stations, had just begun in Feb 2017. tunnel excavation of the first phase of line 3 was started in 2015.

Shariati Metro Station (Mashhad Metro) Mashhad Metro station

Shariati Metro Station is a station of Mashhad Metro Line 1. The station opened on 10 October 2011. It is located on Shari'ati Sq.. The station provides access to Qa'em and Emam Reza hospitals. The station also serves Mashhad Metro Line 2 and provide interchange between the two lines from 20 March 2018. On 7 May 2018 Iranian President Hassan Rouhani took part in the inauguration ceremony of the first Mashhad Urban Railway interchange station "Shariati" which connects line 1 and 2.

Mashhad railway station

Mashhad railway station is located in Mashhad, Razavi Khorasan, the second largest city of Iran. The station is owned by IRI Railways and has daily services from most parts of the country, plus two suburban services. The building was designed by Heydar Ghiai.

Iran–Turkmenistan border Separates the territories of Iran and Turkmenistan

The Iran-Turkmenistan border is 1,148km in length and runs from the Caspian Sea to the tripoint with Afghanistan. The Turkmen capital Ashgabat is only 15 miles north of this boundary, and Mashhad is 47 miles south of it.
