The Washington State Republican Party is the state affiliate of the national United States Republican Party,headquartered in Bellevue.

Jeffrey H. "Jeff" Baxter is a former American businessman and politician of the Republican Party. Baxter represented Washington's 4th Legislative District in the Washington State Senate for less than 10 months during 2011. Despite being the second choice of the Republican Precinct Committee Officers to current State Representative Matt Shea,he was appointed in February 2011 to fill the vacancy following Senator Bob McCaslin,Sr.'s resignation due to health difficulties. Baxter was ultimately defeated in a special election on November 2011 to former State Representative and Spokane County District Court Judge Mike Padden by nearly 10 points.
Leonard Glenn Christian is an American politician and businessman. Christian serves as a member of the Washington House of Representatives,representing the 4th district. He was appointed to the state House in 2014 to fill out the remainder of the term of Representative Larry Crouse.

The State of Liberty is a proposed U.S. state to be formed out of Eastern Washington. Enabling legislation was introduced in the Washington State House of Representatives in January 2019. It was proposed by Washington State Representative Matt Shea as House Memorials in 2015 and 2017,and was the subject of the Douglas County Republicans' "Lincoln Day dinner" keynote speech in May 2018 at the Wenatchee Convention Center. In early 2021,a bill calling for the creation of a new state called Liberty was proposed by Republicans Rob Chase and Bob McCaslin. The bill was also co-sponsored by Republicans Robert Sutherland and Tom Dent.
