Commodore Robert Cameron Hastie KStJ CBE RD JP RNR (born 24 May 1933), [1] was a British senior Royal Naval Reserve officer who was the Lord-Lieutenant for West Glamorgan from April 1995 [2] to May 2008. [3]

In the 1983 New Year Honours, Hastie was appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE). [4] He was appointed Knight of the Venerable Order of St John (KStJ) in May 2006. [5]

Vice-Admiral Sir Ronald Vernon Brockman was a British senior officer of the Royal Navy. He served under Lord Mountbatten and participated in accepting the surrender of the Japanese Fleet in 1945. Sir Ronald was the elder son of Engineer Rear-Admiral Henry Stafford Brockman CB. He was descendant of the English Brockman family, and was Gentleman Usher to the Queen from 1967 to 1979.

The office of High Sheriff of West Glamorgan was established in 1974 as part of the creation of the county of West Glamorgan in Wales following the Local Government Act 1972. Together with the High Sheriff of Mid Glamorgan and the High Sheriff of South Glamorgan, it replaced the office of the High Sheriff of Glamorgan.
