He is a Distinguished Professor of Mathematics at Massey University, the head of the New Zealand Institute for Advanced Study, the former president of the New Zealand Mathematical Society, and former editor-in-chief of the New Zealand Journal of Mathematics. He is a former Vice-President of the Royal Society of New Zealand [Mathematical, Physical Sciences Engineering and Technology. His research concerns quasiconformal mappings, regularity theory for partial differential equations, and connections between the theory of discrete groups and low-dimensional topology.

    Eric Vanden-Eijnden is a professor of mathematics at the Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences, New York University. Vanden-Eijnden earned his doctorate in 1997 from the Université libre de Bruxelles under the supervision of Radu Bălescu. In 2009 he was awarded the Germund Dahlquist Prize of the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics "for his work in developing mathematical tools and numerical methods for the analysis of dynamical systems that are both stochastic and multiscale", and in 2011 he won SIAM's J.D. Crawford Prize for outstanding research in nonlinear science.

    Marti J. Anderson is an ecological statistician whose works is interdisciplinary, from marine biology and ecology to mathematical and applied statistics. Her core areas of research and expertise are: community ecology, biodiversity, multivariate analysis, resampling methods, experimental designs, and statistical models of species abundances.     Alex James is a British and New Zealand applied mathematician and mathematical biologist whose research involves the mathematical modeling of wildlife behaviour, gender disparities in academia, and the epidemiology of COVID-19.
