Robinsonekspedisjonen: 2007, was the seventh season of the Norwegian version of the Swedish show Expedition Robinson and it premiered on 9 September 2007 and aired until 2 December 2007.
As this was the first season of Robinson to air since its initial cancellation in 2007, the producers decided to take the show back to its roots. However, there were a few twists throughout the season, the first being that the eighteen initial contestants were forced to compete in an endurance competition before they were split into teams. The two contestants to quit the competition first were eliminated. The next twist came in episode two in which a joker, Linni Meister, entered the game. In episode four, Merete Svenningdal was voted as the least deserving person to win the game by her fellow South team members. Following the vote, Merete was moved to the North team. Following Gunnar Norbeck's evacuation in episode eleven, Peter Arambasic, who had been eliminated in a challenge just prior to the merge, returned to the game in his place. Norbeck was eventually eliminated in a duel against Anne-Grete. In episode thirteen, Kenneth and Vibeke had to compete in a duel in order to determine who would return to the game. Ultimately, it was Ann-Kristin Otnes who won the season with a jury vote of 5-3 over Anne-Grete Strand.

Survivor is a reality-competition television franchise produced in many countries around the world. The show features a group of contestants deliberately marooned in an isolated location, where they must provide basic survival necessities for themselves. The contestants compete in challenges for rewards and immunity from elimination. The contestants are progressively eliminated from the game as they are voted out by their fellow contestants until only one remains to be awarded the grand prize and named the "Sole Survivor".
Expeditie Robinson is a popular reality television program in the Netherlands and Flanders (Belgium) that debuted in 2000 and based on a format first shown by Swedish television in 1997. The format, most notable under the title Survivor, has since then also been produced in many other countries. The name of the show alludes to Robinson Crusoe, a story featuring people marooned by shipwreck.
Expedition Robinson 2000, was the fourth edition of Expedition Robinson, or Survivor as it is referred to in some countries, to air in Sweden and it aired in 2000. For the first time since season one when a tribe lost an immunity challenge it was up to that tribe to vote out one of their members.
Expedition Robinson: 2005, was the ninth version of Expedition Robinson, or Survivor as it is referred to in some countries, to air in Sweden and it aired in 2005. The major twist this season was that the contestants were divided into tribes based on their annual salaries, with the North team being the "rich" team and the South team being the "poor" team. Another twist was that of the change in voting format, all contestants were given thirteen votes that they could use at any time and in any amount. Robert Drakwind, formerly known as Robert Andersson, returned to compete for a third time since 1999 along with his girlfriend, Anna Carin Wase. Both were "jokers" and did not enter the competition until episode 3. Both jokers became "chiefs" of one of the tribes and were given immunity at all pre-merge tribal councils, however from episode 4 on they could be challenged by any member of their tribe for the position of chief. If challenged, the chief and challenger would face off in a duel in which the winner would become chief and the loser would be eliminated from the competition. The final twist of the season was that of the "Finalist Island". Introduced in a challenge immediately preceding the merge, contestants would compete in a series of duels in which the winner would earn a spot on Finalist Island. The two contestants left on Finalist Island when only seven contestants were left would have immunity until the final four, while the remaining five contestants not on the island would have to compete for the two remaining spots. Karolina and Max were the last two contestants on Finalist Island. Ultimately, Karolina Conrad went on to win the season with a jury vote of 6–5 over Max Stjernfelt.
Expedition Robinson 2003, was the seventh version of Expedition Robinson, or Survivor as it is referred to in some countries, to air in Sweden and it aired in 2003. Along with the twenty four official contestants, there was a twenty fifth contestant, Hildegard Krebbs who was forced to leave the competition in its pre-production stage. As this season was initially thought to be the show's last, the major twist for season was that it was to be an "Allstars" theme in which a tribe of former contestants known as the "Veterans", would take on a team of newcomers known as the "Challengers". Another twist was added midway through the pre-merge stage of the competition, a pair twist. As part of the pair twist the contestants were grouped, competed, and voted out in pairs, however following their initial elimination the two members of the pair would compete in a duel, the winner of which would stay secluded from most of the other contestants on an island, known as "Utopia", in order to compete in a series of duels to re-enter the competition. Throughout the post-merge duration of the game, contestants, both in the game and in Utopia, would continuously swap locations based on challenge results. As a final twist eight more votes would be distributed among the two finalists based on the percent they received in a public poll. In the end, Emma Andersson won the season with a jury vote of 11–5 over Mille Lansburgh. Andersson received six of the eight public votes having garnered seventy five percent of the vote.

From then on, any contestant that either lost a challenge or voted out were sent to the Mangrove. Throughout the competition many contestants living in the Mangrove were given opportunities to re-enter the game, however it was not until episode 9, when the contestants living in the Mangrove won a challenge against the merge tribe, known as Teluk, in order to re-enter the game. Another twist that occurred this season was that of a tribal swap which took place in episode 4. Following the Mangrove contestants return to the game, a power struggle ensued between the Belgian and Dutch contestants. Ultimately, it was Belgian contestant Frank Meulder who won the season over fellow Belgian Matthias Verscheure with an overwhelming majority jury vote of 10-2.
