Robox is a non-linear side-scrolling game developed by DeShae Games in which the player controls the eponymous robot and explores the depths of an alien planet. Robox received poor reviews, with reviewers describing it as confusing and tedious, albeit visually pleasing. It was released onto WiiWare and was first sold on April 15, 2010.
The player character, Robox is a space probe sent to a mysterious island to investigate the disappearance of other probes. [1]
Robox contains obstacles that can be traversed once they discover a certain item or ability, such as an arm that breaks blocks. [2] This gameplay has been compared to the Metroid series. [3] Each time the player acquires a new power, it must be unlocked by solving a puzzle within Robox's body. [4] There are a total of three different planets in the game. [5]
Robox received poor reviews, sitting at 50/100 on Metacritic. [6] Nintendo Life gave the game 5 out of 10 stars and said "Robox is a game with some good ideas that unfortunately aren't capitalized on nearly enough", concluding that players expecting a straightforward game "will wander aimlessly, bemoaning the lack of a map and swearing intermittently." It also disliked the trial-and-error gameplay, writing that the "constant repetition of quite lengthy bits of gameplay can frustrate after a while." [3] Nintendo-x2 gave the game 5.6/10, declaring that it "fails to provide much in the way of entertainment for anyone other than the most patient of gamer" and finding that it was highly repetitive, though it did reserve praise for the game's visuals. [7] Eurogamer gave the game 4/10, describing it as "slow, clunky and tedious" and declaring that it had "dreadful shooting mechanics". [8]
Wario: Master of Disguise is a 2007 platform game developed by Suzak and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo DS. Its Japanese title, Phantom Thief Wario the Seven, refers to the fact that he has seven "forms". The game was released on the Wii U's Virtual Console in PAL regions and Japan in 2015 and North America in 2016.
Mega Man 9 is a 2008 action-platform game developed by Capcom and Inti Creates. It is the ninth numbered game in the original Mega Man series, and the first home console game in the series since Mega Man & Bass (1998). Bomberman Blast is an action game developed and published by Hudson Soft for the Wii and WiiWare as part of the Bomberman franchise. The game was released as two versions: a fully featured retail release and a WiiWare version known as Wi-Fi 8-Nin Battle Bomberman. The retail version was released in Japan on September 25, 2008, while the WiiWare version was released on September 30, 2008. It was released in 2009 in North America, and released in Japan and PAL regions in the same year. It was later released for the Windows and Mac OS X through the download service Steam in 2010, while Namco Bandai published it for iOS on iPod Touch, iPhone, and iPad in both Bit.Trip Beat and Bit.Trip Beat HD versions. Mr. Driller W is a 2009 puzzle video game developed and published for the WiiWare service by Namco Bandai Games. The eighth entry in the Mr. Driller series, gameplay revolves around clearing each level by destroying, or "drilling", large formations of colorful blocks. Players have an oxygen meter that acts as a time limit, and constantly depletes; air is replenished by collecting air capsules, and is depleted further by destroying brown "X" blocks.
Muscle March, known in Japan as Muscle Kōshinkyoku, is an action game developed and published by Namco Bandai Games for the Wii through the WiiWare service. It was released in Japan in 2009, and in North America and the PAL region in 2010. Players control one of seven different bodybuilders and try to catch a thief that has stolen their bodybuilding friends' tub of protein powder. Its gameplay is similar to Hole In The Wall, where players use the Wiimote and Nunchuck to perform specific bodybuilder poses to pass through corresponding holes in walls left by the thief.
Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode I is a 2010 platform game developed by Dimps, with assistance from Sonic Team, and published by Sega. It is a sequel to Sonic & Knuckles (1994), following Sonic as he sets out to stop a returning Doctor Eggman. Like the Sonic the Hedgehog games released for the Sega Genesis, Episode I features side-scrolling gameplay, with movement restricted to a 2D plane. The player races through levels collecting rings while rolling into a ball to attack enemies. The game also features special stages in which the player collects Chaos Emeralds and online leaderboards comparing level completion times and high scores.
Pearl Harbor Trilogy – 1941: Red Sun Rising is a flight simulator developed and published by Legendo Entertainment. The game is based on the Attack on Pearl Harbor and the following Battles of Wake Island, Midway, and the Coral Sea. The game is presented through a third-person perspective. In the single-player campaign, the players assumes control of either a United States Army Air Force pilot or an Imperial Japanese Navy pilot. Both pilots have eight single-player missions each, beginning during the Attack on Pearl Harbor and chronologically featuring the key battles that followed, including the Battle of Wake Island, Battle of Midway, and Battle of the Coral Sea.
Sonic Colors is a 2010 platform game published by Sega. It follows Sonic's quest to stop his nemesis Doctor Eggman from enslaving an alien race and taking over the world. The gameplay is similar to prior Sonic games, with players collecting rings and defeating enemies; the camera perspective often switches from third-person to side-scrolling perspectives. The game also introduces Wisps, power-ups the player can use to increase attack power and reach new areas.
Pac-Man Party is a party video game by Namco Bandai Games for the Wii, Windows Mobile, and Nintendo 3DS. It is similar to the Mario Party series and Monopoly games for the Wii. In the game's story mode, players must retrieve a stolen cookie recipe from Pac-Man's enemies Blinky, Pinky, Inky, and Clyde and return it to its rightful owner, Mr. Cookie. SteamWorld Dig is a platform action-adventure game created by Swedish video game developer Image & Form. The second installment in the SteamWorld series after SteamWorld Tower Defense, SteamWorld Dig has the player control Rusty, a steam-powered robot who arrives at a small Western-Steampunk mining town called Tumbleton after having received a deed for a mine from his long-forgotten uncle, Joe. The objective of the game is to dig through Tumbleton's mine, which also involves solving puzzles and platforming to avoid traps and enemies.
