Rowden is an unincorporated community in Callahan County, in the U.S. state of Texas. [1] According to the Handbook of Texas, the community had a population of 30 in 2000. It is located within the Abilene metropolitan area.
Today, the community is served by the Cross Plains Independent School District.

Callahan County is a county located in the U.S. state of Texas. As of the 2020 census, the population was 13,708. Its county seat is Baird. The county was founded in 1858 and later organized in 1877. It is named for James Hughes Callahan, an American soldier in the Texas Revolution. Callahan County is included in the Abilene, Texas metropolitan statistical area.

Diana Hope Rowden served in the Women's Auxiliary Air Force and was an agent for the United Kingdom's clandestine Special Operations Executive (SOE) during World War II. Rowden was a member of SOE's Acrobat circuit in occupied France where she operated as a courier until she was arrested by the Gestapo. She was subsequently executed at the Natzweiler-Struthof concentration camp.
Northeast Texas is a cultural and geographic region in the northeast corner of the U.S. state of Texas. Cullen Montgomery Baker was a Tennessee-born desperado whose gang terrorized Union soldiers and civilians in Northeast Texas, Southwest Arkansas, and Northwest Louisiana during the early days of the American Old West. His gang is alleged to have killed hundreds of people in the years following the American Civil War, though these numbers are probably inaccurate, and the actual number is between fifty and sixty.

Rowdens Road is a former first-class cricket ground located in Wells, Somerset. The ground was an early home to Wells Cricket Club, though the club no longer plays there. Between 1935–1939 and 1946–1951, the ground hosted annual Somerset County Cricket Club matches. In the first first-class match at the ground in 1935, Somerset were dismissed by Worcestershire for just 56; a factor may have been that the match was played under what Wisden Cricketers' Almanack termed "novel conditions". It went on: "There were no sight-screens, and the match details were broadcast from the scorers' box by means of a microphone and loud-speakers."

Caleb Rowden is an American musician, worship leader, and politician. He is a member of the Missouri State Senate for District 19, having served since 2017. A member of the Republican Party, Rowden previously served in the Missouri House of Representatives from 2013 to 2017. In November 2018, Rowden was elected by his Republican colleagues to be the majority leader in the Missouri Senate's 2019 session. In October 2023, he announced his candidacy in the 2024 Missouri Secretary of State election.
