Dodoma, officially Dodoma City, is the national capital of Tanzania and the capital of the Dodoma Region, with a population of 410,956. In 1974, the Tanzanian government announced that the capital would be moved to Dodoma for social and economic reasons and to centralise the capital within the country. It became the official capital in 1996. Much of the initial design never came to fruition however, and government offices and embassies have resisted moving offices to Dodoma. As a result, Dar es Salaam remains the commercial and de facto capital of Tanzania.
Dodoma Region is one of Tanzania's 31 administrative regions. The regional capital is the city of Dodoma. The region is located in central Tanzania, it is bordered by Singida Region to the west; Manyara Region to the north; Iringa Region to the south; and Morogoro Region to the east. Dodoma Region hosts the nation's capital city with where the legislative assembly or Bunge is based. Dodoma Region also hosts one of the largest University in Tanzania, University of Dodoma. According to the 2012 national census, the region had a population of 2,083,588.
Morogoro is a city, with a population of 305,840, in the eastern part of Tanzania, 196 kilometres (122 mi) west of Dar es Salaam, the country's largest city and commercial centre, and 260 kilometres (160 mi) east of Dodoma, the country's capital city. Morogoro is the capital of the Morogoro Region. It is also known informally as "Mji kasoro bahari," which translates to “city short of an ocean/port."
Kilombero District is a district in Morogoro Region, south-western Tanzania.
The Central Line, formerly known as the Tanganyika Railway is the most important railway line in Tanzania, apart from TAZARA. It runs west from Dar es Salaam to Kigoma on Lake Tanganyika via Dodoma. A branch leads to Mwanza on Lake Victoria.

The Uluguru mountains are a mountain range in eastern Tanzania, named after the Luguru tribe. The main portion of the Uluguru mountains is a ridge running roughly north-south and rising to 2,630 metres (8,600 ft) altitude at its highest point. On the main Uluguru range, 50 villages touch the forest boundary and over 151,000 people are found within the mountain area, often at increasing densities at higher altitudes up to the forest boundary.

Kimboza Forest is a lowland forest in Tanzania located at the foothills of the Uluguru Mountains 7°2′S37°47′E. The large Ruvu River crosses the reserve and the forest stretches to the top of the nearby hills. It is interspersed by massive rock outcrops and has several permanent small streams.
Ngerengere River is a river of the Morogoro Region of Tanzania. It rises in the Uluguru Mountains, and flows eastwards to join the Ruvu River at approximately 7.05085 S, 38.51571 E. The city of Morogoro is on the Ngerengere River.

Water supply and sanitation in Tanzania is characterised by: decreasing access to at least basic water sources in the 2000s, steady access to some form of sanitation, intermittent water supply and generally low quality of service. The Ulanga River, also known as the Kilombero River, rises in the highlands of the southwest of Morogoro Region, Tanzania, on the eastern slope of the East African Rift. The river flows northeast along the northeastern border of the Lindi Region before it flows into the Rufiji River. The Rufiji eventually flows into the Indian Ocean on the southern coast of the Pwani Region.
Ngerengere is a Tanzanian ward of Morogoro District in Morogoro Region. It is located south of the A7 trunk road that connects Dar es Salaam to Morogoro. It is named after the Ngerengere River. The Tanzanian Army's air force command maintains an airbase near the vicinity.

India has a High Commission in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania has a High Commission in New Delhi, which is also accredited to Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh and Myanmar. In May 2011, Ex Prime Minister of India Manmohan Singh calls for strengthen cooperation with Tanzania. The New Ruvu Bridge is a bridge in Tanzania that crosses the Ruvu River. It was inaugurated by the Tanzanian Vice President Ali Mohamed Shein in 2009 It lies on the A7 highway connecting the city of Dar es Salaam to the other regions.

The new Standard Gauge Railway (SGR), is intended to replace the old, inefficient metre-gauge railway system.
