Ryan Cochrane (born July 24, 1983) is a Canadian kayaker. He was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia. [1] He competed in K-2 (both 200m and 1000m) together with Hugues Fournel at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.
On August 1, 2016 (after the suspension of the Russian crew) he was named to Canada's 2016 Olympic team in the men's K-2 200 m event. [2]

He is an Olympic gold medallist in the K-1 500m category (2004) and a two-time world champion in K-1 500 (2007) and K-1 1000 (2011), winning four Olympic and eight world championship medals. His home club is the Burloak Canoe Club in Oakville, Ontario.

The 2011 ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships was the thirty-ninth edition of the ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships, that took place between 17 and 21 August 2011 in Szeged, Hungary. The Southern Hungarian city welcomed the world event for the third time, having hosted the championship previously in 1998 and 2006. These championships were awarded initially to Vichy, France, however, the race course on the Allier proved to be inadequate to hold the competition and the French Canoe Federation withdraw from organizing the event, following that Szeged, the original host of the 2013 ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships, was moved up to 2011.

Jean Fournel was a Canadian sprint canoer who competed in the mid-1970s. He competed in the K-4 1000 m event at the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal, but was eliminated in the semifinals.

Hugues Fournel is a Canadian kayaker. He was born in Lachine, Quebec. Fournel was the 2011 Pan American champion in the men's K-2 200 m together with Ryan Cochrane. He competed in K-2 200 and 1000 m together with Cochrane at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.
Jon Schofield is a British canoeist. He partnered with Liam Heath in the men's kayak double 200m sprint event, and they have won a bronze in K-2 200 at the 2012 Summer Olympics, and a silver at the 2016 Summer Olympics in the same event. They have also won gold at the European Championships three times as well as silver and bronze medals at the World Championships.
Darisleydis Amador Rodríguez is a Cuban sprint canoeist. She won a silver medal in the women's K-1 200 metres at the 2011 Pan American Games in Guadalajara, Mexico by thirty-seven thousandths of a second (0.037) behind winner Carrie Johnson of the United States, with a time of 41.840 seconds.
Rubén Oscar Voisard Rézola is an Argentine sprint canoeist. He won the gold medal in the men's kayak doubles at the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto, Canada and silver medal in the men's kayak doubles at the 2011 Pan American Games in Guadalajara, Mexico, earning him a spot on the Argentine team for the Olympics. Voisard is also a member of the canoe and kayak team for Argentina's Natural Reserve Boating Association, and is coached and trained by Damian Dossena.
Stephen Bird is a South African-born Australian sprint canoeist. He is a three-time national champion in the men's kayak doubles, and a member of the Canning River Canoe Club in Perth, Western Australia, under his personal coach Ramon Andersson.

Since the nation's debut in 1900, Canadian athletes had appeared in every edition of the Summer Olympic Games, with the exception of the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow because of the country's support for the United States-led boycott.
