S. B. Deorah College, formerly known as Ulubari College, established in 1984, is a degree college situated in Bora Service locality of Guwahati, Assam. [2] [3] It was named after Sreenivas Basudev Deorah, a businessman from Guwahati. This college is affiliated with the Gauhati University. [4] [5]

History

The College, formerly named, Ulubari College, first started functioning in Ulubari High School. Later it shifted to its own temporary Assam-type shed. Later a RCC building was created by S B Deorah Charitable trust and the college was also renamed in the name of S. B. Deorah. The college gets affiliated to the Gauhati University in the year 1996. It also got permanent UGC registration under Section 2(f) & 12(B) of UGC Act, 1956, in the year 2005. [2]

S. B. Deorah College has announced the cut-off marks for admission to its highly demanding undergraduate programs for the academic year 2023-2024. [6]

Zoology

In the Department of Zoology, the cut-off marks for the General Category are set at 81%, while the OBC category requires a cut-off of 77.6%. For the SC category, the cut-off is 77.8%, and for the ST (Plains) category, it is 69%. The ST (Hills) category has a cut-off mark of 79.4%. The EWS category has a cut-off mark of 76.4%.

Political science

For the Department of Political Science, the cut-off for the General Category is set at 76%. The OBC category has a cut-off of 72.4%, while the SC category requires a minimum of 71.6%. Both ST (Plains) and ST (Hills) categories have a cut-off of 65.2% and 74.4%, respectively.

Finance

In the Department of Finance, the General Category cut-off is set at 75%, with the OBC category at 61%. The SC category requires a cut-off of 58.2%, while the ST (Plains) category has a cut-off of 65.8% and the ST (Hills) category has a cut-off of 60%.

Accountancy

The Department of Accountancy has established its General Category cut-off at 75%, followed by an OBC cut-off of 65.2%. The SC category has a cut-off of 61%, while the ST (Plains) and ST (Hills) categories require cut-offs of 54.8% and 70%, respectively.

Chemistry

For the Department of Chemistry, the cut-off for the General Category is set at 72.8%. The OBC category has a cut-off of 58.8%, while the ST (Plains) category requires a minimum of 52%. The EWS category requires a cut-off of 70.8%.

English

Lastly, for the Department of English, the General Category cut-off is set at 72.8%, with an OBC cut-off of 68.8%. The SC category requires a cut-off of 63%, while both the ST (Plains) and ST (Hills) categories have cut-offs of 61.8% and 70%, respectively.
