The SAFF U-15/U-16/U-17 Women's Championship is association football tournament for women's national teams under the age of 15. The tournament is organized by South Asian Football Federation (SAFF).

Contents

History

The tournament began in 2017 and is hosted every other year. For 2021, the decision was made to make the tournament a U-16 tournament versus the previous three iterations which had been U-15. However, the tournament was ultimately postponed. [1] Later, Bangladesh was declared to be the host of the 4th edition, which is going to take place in U-15 format on late 2022.[ citation needed ]

Initially, it was decided to be hosted by Pakistan in 2020, but was postponed to September 2021 in Bangladesh. However, the tournament was postponed again to October due to the COVID-19 pandemic, with Maldives as host.

The 2020 OFC U-17 Women's Championship, originally to be held as the 2019 OFC U-16 Women's Championship, was originally to be the 5th edition of the OFC U-16/U-17 Women's Championship, the biennial international youth football championship organised by the Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) for the women's under-16/under-17 national teams of Oceania.
