Sallys Flat is a locality in the Australian state of New South Wales.
The area now known as Sallys Flat is on the traditional land of the Wiradjuri people. [3]
Sallys Flat was a small gold-mining village established in 1872 at the same time as nearby Hill End boomed during the New South Wales gold rush. It produced gold for many years but was not a large producer. It is now a farming area.
In late 2015, Sallys Flat was one of six locations on an Australian Government shortlist for a nuclear waste repository. [4] However the Government soon found the idea unpopular with locals [2] and removed Sallys Flat from the list. [5]

Narrandera until around 1949 also spelled "Narandera", is a town located in the Riverina region of southern New South Wales, Australia. The town lies on the junction of the Newell and Sturt highways, adjacent to the Murrumbidgee River, and it is considered the gateway to the Murrumbidgee Irrigation Area. At the 2016 census, Narrandera had a population of 3,746 people.

Kimba is a rural service town on the Eyre Highway at the top of Eyre Peninsula in the Australian state of South Australia. At the 2016 census, Kimba had a population of 629 and it has an annual rainfall of 348 millimetres (13.7 in). There is an 8-metre (26 ft) tall statue of a galah beside the highway, marking halfway between the east and west coasts of Australia. The Gawler Ranges are north of the highway near the town.

The Maxey Flat Low-Level Radioactive Waste (LLRW) facility is a Superfund site in Kentucky which served as a dump site for 832 government agencies and corporations until 1977. The flat was closed in 1982 due to a reported radioactive leak by Kentucky New Era, and from 1987-1991 a study was conducted to examine the extent of the contamination.

Muckaty Station, also known as Warlmanpa, is a 2,380-square-kilometre (920 sq mi) Aboriginal freehold landholding in Australia's Northern Territory, 110 kilometres (68 mi) north of Tennant Creek, and approximately 800 kilometres (500 mi) south of Darwin. Originally under traditional Indigenous Australian ownership, the area became a pastoral lease in the late 19th century and for many years operated as a cattle station. It is traversed by the Stuart Highway, built in the 1940s along the route of the service track for the Australian Overland Telegraph Line. It is also crossed by the Amadeus Gas Pipeline built in the mid-1980s, and the Adelaide–Darwin railway, completed in early 2004. Muckaty Station was returned to its Indigenous custodians in 1999.
Arcoona or Arcoona Station is a pastoral lease that operates as a sheep station.
The bushfire season in the summer of 2014–15, was expected to have the potential for many fires in eastern Australia after lower than expected rainfall was received in many areas. Authorities released warnings in the early spring that the season could be particularly bad.
Wyangala is a small village in the Lachlan Valley, near the junction of the Abercrombie and Lachlan Rivers, just below the Wyangala Dam wall. It is in the South West Slopes of New South Wales, Australia, and about 320 km (200 mi) west of the state capital, Sydney.
David Noonan is an Australian environmentalist and member of the anti-nuclear movement in Australia.
