Samantha Ryan (born February 5, 1969) is an American sportscaster who is a sports anchor for WABC-TV New York's Eyewitness News' weekend evening broadcasts.

Biography

Early life and education

Ryan is an alumna of the New York Institute of Technology [3] and also majored in communications at Hofstra University. [4]

Broadcasting career

Early in her career, Ryan worked for WBAB Babylon, New York, WVIT Hartford, and WFAN New York. She joined ABC Radio Network in 1996 and then Fox Sports New York in 2000. She started her first stint at WABC-TV ABC in September 2002. [5]

Ryan joined ESPN in 2003, [6] and CBS Sports and WCBS-TV in June 2006. [7] She joined MLB Network as a studio host and reporter in September 2011 and appeared regularly on MLB Network's game productions, The Rundown, Quick Pitch, and other studio programming. [8] She gave on-air reports from the field in the League Championship Series between the Chicago Cubs and Los Angeles Dodgers in 2017 on MLB Network and TBS. Ryan was with MLB Network until June 2018 when she returned to WABC. [9]

Awards

Ryan won a local Emmy Award for "Outstanding Series Feature-soft" in 1999 and a local AP award in 2000. [6]

William Charles Beutel1 was an American television reporter, journalist, and anchor. He was best known for working over four decades with the American Broadcasting Company, spending much of that time anchoring Eyewitness News for WABC-TV in New York City. He also was an ABC radio network newscaster before ABC Radio split into four networks in January 1968. After the split he reported on the American Contemporary Network and occasionally substituted for Paul Harvey, while his Eyewitness News partner Roger Grimsby presented a daily afternoon radio newscast on the American Entertainment Network.

Jeanne Zelasko is an American journalist and sportscaster who worked for "The Beast" AM980 KFWB and Fox Sports West in Los Angeles County, California. Good Day New York is a morning show airing on WNYW Fox 5, hosted by Rosanna Scotto and Curt Menefee. It is a Fox owned-and-operated television station in New York City, owned by the Fox Television Stations subsidiary of Fox Corporation. It was the first morning newscast to air on a Fox-owned station, having launched on August 1, 1988. The program broadcasts each weekday morning from 4:30 to 10 a.m. Eastern Time. The 4:30–7 a.m. portion is a general news/traffic/weather format. The 7-9 a.m. portion still features news, traffic and weather, but also incorporates entertainment news. Quick Pitch is an American television show centered on showing highlights of baseball games from the previous night. Quick Pitch airs on MLB Network during the MLB regular season at 1 A.M. ET every weeknight and after Saturday Night Baseball or MLB Tonight every Saturday. Reruns of Quick Pitch are shown overnights and mornings during the regular season.

Scott Stanford is an American entertainment host, news/sports anchor and commentator. Stanford is currently a studio Host for WWE and can also be seen co-hosting The Suki & Scott Show on digital and broadcast platforms. Scott can also be heard anchoring morning newscasts on 1010/92.3FM WINS in NYC. Scott was also anchoring sports at CBS Sports HQ. Scott was recently the main sports anchor on PIX11 NY as well as co-host along with Sukanya Krishnan on the WPIX11 Morning Show. Along with Tamsen Fadal, he was co-anchor of WPIX-TV in New York City's weeknight 5pm and 10pm newscasts until July 2014. Stanford is also a host for This Week in WWE and Afterburn on the WWE Network. Scott can also be heard occasionally hosting on 77 WABC Radio in New York and doing stand up comedy for various charity organizations.

New York City has been called the media capital of the world. Many journalists work in Manhattan, reporting about international, American, sports, business, entertainment, and New York metropolitan area-related matters.
