Samuel Keefa Kamya Ssemakula is a Ugandan Anglican bishop [1] in the Anglican Church of Uganda. He served as the 4th Bishop of West Buganda Diocese. [2] until 23rd January 2011, when he handed over to his successor, the late bishop, Godfrey Makumbi. As of 2025, the current bishop of the diocese is Gaster Nsereko, who was consecrated in March 2025. He is currently a Bishop Emeritus. In recent years, he remained active in church affairs, notably speaking on the financial challenges facing retired clergy in Uganda. In December 2010, shortly before his retirement, Bishop Kamya was involved in a widely reported incident at Masaka High Court where he was accused of attempting to strangle a journalist, Brian Luwaga, for taking his photograph without permission [3] .
