Hannington Mutebi is an Anglican bishop who serves in Uganda: [1] since 2014 he has been Assistant Bishop of Kampala. [2]
He was appointed [3] Chancellor of Ndejje University on December 17, 2021, at the 23rd Graduation Ceremony.
Bishop [4] Hannington has been a born-again christian since March 15, 1981
In 1989, he was posted to St .Luke Kibuye as deacon [5] . He was posted to Bunamwaya Church of Uganda between 1989 and 1991.Between 1992 and 1995, he served as Vicar [6] of St. Paul cathedral Namirembe [7] .He was posted as vicar at St .Stephen , Kisugu in 2005 before being appointed Archedeacon for south Archedeaconry of Kampala in 2008. In 2008 he went toTrinity School for Ministry Ambriedge Pennsylvania [8] . Mutebi was in 2011, appointed as Provost and was posted to All Saints Cathederal Kampala [9] untill elevation
Bishop Hannington Mutebi who was enthroned on Saturday, November 10, 2013 , replaced Bishop Zac Niringiye, who had retired the previous year as the new and fourth asisstant bishop of Kampala [10] Anglican Diocese. He was elected by the House of Bishops [11] in August.
Mutebi was born in 1968 and baptized. He studied in West Germany [13] between 1983 and1984. In 1986, he joined Uganda Martyrs Seminary , Namugongo
Bishop Rt. Rev. Dr. Hannington Mutebi is married to Maama Milly Mutebi a registered nurse, and in January 2022, the couple celebrated their 34th marriage anniversary.The Mutebis have raised five children
