Sand Island is one of the Apostle Islands, in northern Wisconsin, in Lake Superior, and is part of the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore. [1] [2] It is located in the Town of Bayfield in Bayfield County. The Sand Island Light, the Sevona Cabin, the Shaw Farm and the West Bay Club are located on the island. There is another Sand Island Lake Chippewa in Sawyer County, Wisconsin.

Bayfield is a city in Bayfield County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 584 at the 2020 census. This makes it the city with the smallest population in Wisconsin. In fact, for a new city to be incorporated today, state regulations require a population of at least 1,000 residents, so it would have to be incorporated as a village instead.
The Apostle Islands National Lakeshore is a U.S. national lakeshore consisting of 21 islands and shoreline encompassing 69,372 acres (28,074 ha) on the northern tip of Wisconsin on the shore of Lake Superior. Michigan Island is one of the Apostle Islands located in western Lake Superior, off the Bayfield Peninsula, in northern Wisconsin. This island has no human inhabitants, and is managed by the National Park Service as part of the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore. It is centered at approximately 46.87° N 90.49° W and has a maximum elevation of 758' above sea level. Along its shores, it rises about 48 feet above Lake Superior's official elevation of 602'. The Michigan Island Light, which has two towers, is located on the island.

The Bayfield Peninsula is a peninsula on Lake Superior. It is located in Bayfield County, Wisconsin USA. It is the northernmost region of mainland Wisconsin, with the south shore of Lake Superior to the west and the Chequamegon Bay to the east. The peninsula is part of the Lake Superior Lowland, though the interior southeast of Cornucopia and west of Bayfield has some higher ground including Pratt's Peak, Bayfield County's second-highest point. Highway 13 runs around the peninsula along the Superior shoreline. The communities of Port Wing, Herbster, Cornucopia, Red Cliff, Bayfield, Washburn, and Ashland lie on this stretch of highway. The interior of the peninsula is mostly the northern end of the Chequamegon National Forest, an area of jackpine growth known as the Moquah Barrens. The Apostle Islands surround the end of the peninsula.
York Island is one of the Apostle Islands in northern Wisconsin, in Lake Superior, and is part of the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore. It is located in the Town of Russell in Bayfield County.
Raspberry Island is one of the Apostle Islands in northern Wisconsin, in Lake Superior, and is part of the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore. The island is part of the Town of Russell, in Bayfield County. The Raspberry Island Light is located on the island.
Outer Island is one of the Apostle Islands, in Lake Superior, in northern Wisconsin, and is part of the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore. It is the easternmost, and third largest of the Apostle Islands. The Outer Island Light is on the northern part of the island. The island is part of the Town of La Pointe, Wisconsin.
Otter Island is one of the Apostle Islands in Northern Wisconsin, in Lake Superior, and is part of the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore. There is another Otter Island in Iowa County, in the Wisconsin River.
Eagle Island is one of the Apostle Islands, in Lake Superior, in northern Wisconsin, and is part of the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore. The National Park Service does not allow entry onto the island in order not to disturb the birds that nest there. Eagle Island is the second-smallest and westernmost island in the Apostle islands. It is located in the Town of Bayfield in Bayfield County at 46°56′38″N091°02′11″W.
Gull Island is one of the Apostle Islands of Lake Superior, in northern Wisconsin, and is part of the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore. It is a small, flat, three-acre island located off the coast of Michigan Island. Along with Eagle Island, Gull Island is closed to visitors to allow colonies of birds to nest. The island is also an important spawning site for fish.
Antelope was a Great Lakes steamship that later was converted into a schooner barge) and sank in Lake Superior near the Apostle Islands in 1897.
