Sanjay Raghuveer Chaudhary (born 25 April 1963) is an Indian writer,professor,and computer scientist from Gujarat,India. He is a professor of computer science at Ahmedabad University,Ahmedabad. He has authored several books in Gujarati and English. His literary work Girnar (2009) received Gujarat Sahitya Akademi's Best Book Prize in Essays and Travelogue category. He has published and edited several books on computer science. He is a senior member of Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).
Sanjay Chaudhary was born on 25 April 1963 in Ahmedabad to his parents Raghuveer Chaudhary,renowned Gujarati literary writer,and Parubahen. [1] [2] [3]
After completing his schooling from Sheth Chimanlal Nagindas Vidyalaya in 1980,Chaudhary joined St. Xavier's College,Ahmedabad from where he received his BA in Economics in 1983. He received his MA in economics in 1985 and post-graduate diploma in Computer Science and Applications in 1986 from Gujarat University. He received M.Phil. and Ph.D. in computer science from Gujarat Vidyapith in 1996 and 2004 respectively. [2] He submitted his doctoral dissertation,Crop Production Information System:Analysis,Design and Information Presentation,under Bharatbhai Buddhadev. [4]
He married Sunita in 1988. [1]
Chaudhary joined Gujarat University's Department of Computer Science in 1987 and continued there till 2001. From 2001 to 2013,he worked at Dhirubhai Ambani Institute of Information and Communication Technology (DA-IICT),Gandhinagar as a professor and as a dean of Academic Programs. Sanjay was one of the founding faculty members of DA-IICT. In 2013,he joined Ahmedabad University as a professor,and worked there as Associate Dean of School of Engineering and Applied Science (2016–2019). As of 2020,he is the interim dean of School of Engineering and Applied Science. [4]
He writes a weekly column titled Technology Ne Tirethi (English:On the Banks of Technology) in NavGujarat Samay ,a Gujarati daily. The column is based on Information Technology. [4]
Chaudhary published his book Girnar in 2009,which is a travelogue and collection of articles on mount Girnar,located at Junagadh. The book provides historical,geographical,cultural and archaeological details on Girnar. It presents the history of Junagadh,its flora and fauna,and folk-literature. [5] [6] Chaudhary is also a short story writer;his short stories have appeared in several prestigious Gujarati magazines including Shabdasrishti , Kumar ,and Parab. [7]
Chaudhary's research focuses on cloud computing,distributed computing,big data analytics,blockchain technology,ICT applications in agriculture. [4]
Chaudhary has investigated,demonstrated,and advocated the use of Geo-spatial analytics for developing multidisciplinary applications,helping in planning,managing and utilizing natural resources efficiently using spatial analysis. Along with his research fellows,he worked on common standards for data integration and effective analytical infrastructure and integrated standards defined by Open Geospatial Consortium for big data processing of spatial data. He proposed open source framework to integrate various types of data,perform geo-spatial analytics,and generate recommendations for the users involved in Agriculture. [8] [9] [10]
Chaudhary won Gujarat Sahitya Akademi's Best Book prize for his book Girnar in Essays and Travelogue category for the year 2009. [3] The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) awarded him Senior Membership in 2010. [4]
Rajendra Anantrai Shukla is a Gujarati poet. He taught at various places before voluntarily retiring. He published several poetry collections which won him several major Gujarati literary awards.
Manubhai Pancholi also known by his pen name Darshak, was a Gujarati language novelist, author, educationist and politician from Gujarat, India. He participated in the Indian independence movement and held several offices after independence.

Shabdasrishti, the journal of the Gujarat Sahitya Akademi, is a Gujarati literary magazine, published on the fifth of every month. The magazine was started in 1983, a year after the establishment of the Akademi. Shabdakhya Jyoti Prakasho is a motto of this magazine.
Suman Shah is a Gujarati language critic, short story writer, novelist, essayist, editor and translator from Gujarat, India. He won the Sahitya Akademi Award in 2008 for his short story collection Fatfatiyun. He has written both in the modern and in the postmodern eras in Gujarati literature. Vinod Joshi is an Indian poet, writer and literary critic in Gujarati language from Gujarat, India. His notable works include Parantu, a collection of Geet, Shikhandi, a long narrative poem based on Shikhandi, a character from the Mahābhārata, Radio Natak: Swarup ane Siddhant, Tundil-tundika, a form of padyavarta, a Gujarati medieval literary genre, and Zalar Vage Zoothadi, a collection of poems. Chandrakant Sheth is a Gujarati poet, essayist, critic, translator and compiler from Gujarat, India. His pen names include Aryaputra, Nand Samavedi, Balchadra and Daksh Prajapati. He won the Sahitya Akademi Award for Gujarati in 1986 for his book Dhoolmani Paglio.
Radheshyam Sharma was a Gujarati language poet, novelist, short story writer, critic and compiler from the state of Gujarat, India. He is known in Gujarati literature for his experimental novels Fero (1968) and Swapnatirtha (1979). His other significant works include Aansu Ane Chandaranu (1963), and Gujarati Navalkatha, a work of literary criticism on Gujarati novels. Phoolchand Gupta is an Indian Hindi and Gujarati language poet, writer and translator. He hails from Himmatnagar, Gujarat, India. He made significant contributions to the Gujarati Dalit literature. Hindi Sahitya Akademi of state awarded him in 2013 for his book Khwabkhwahon Ki Sadi Hai. He won the Shafdar Hashmi Prize (2000) for his book Isi Mahol Mein.
Rajendra Patel is a Gujarati language poet, short story writer and critic from Gujarat, India. He has served as Vice President of Gujarati Sahitya Parishad since 2014. His significant works include Jueeni Sugandha, Shri Purant Janse and Avagat. Gujarat Sahitya Akademi awarded him three times for his poems, short stories and criticism. His book Jueeni Sugandh was translated by Navneet Thakkar in Hindi as Juhi Ki Mahak (2007). He also served in the editorial team of Shabdasrishti, a monthly magazine published by Gujarat Sahitya Akademi.
Harish Krishnaram Dave, better known by his pen name Harish Meenashru, is a Gujarati language poet and translator from Gujarat, India. He is best known as a postmodern poet in Gujarati literature. Some of his significant works include Dhribaangsundar Eni Pere Dolya (1988), Suno Bhai Sadho (1999), Tandul (1999), Parjanyasukta (1999), and Banaras Diary (2016). His poems have been translated in Hindi, Marathi, Malayalam, Kannada, German, and English. He received a Kalapi Award (2010), Vali Gujarati Gazal Award (2012), and Narsinh Mehta Award (2014). He received the 2020 Sahitya Akademi Award for his poetry collection Banaras Diary (2016).
