Prior to entering into politics, Connolly worked in the criminal justice system as a judge’s associate, and in a law firm. She also worked for the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission and Australian Energy Regulator, and spent over a decade working across public and privately-owned energy networks in policy, legislative reform and regulatory frameworks. [4]

Personal life

Connolly is married to Scott Connolly, Assistant Secretary of the Australian Council of Trade Unions. Together they have had three children but the eldest, Viviene, has died. [5]

Political career

Connolly was pre-selected by the Labor Party as its candidate for Tarneit in 2017 and went on to be elected at the 2018 Victorian State Election. She was a Board Member of VicHealth, and is a member of the Transport Workers Union and the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association. [6]

At the 2022 state election, she stood in the new electorate of Laverton, which had been established in a redistribution, and was elected. [7]

Telmo Ramon Languiller-Tornesi is an Australian politician. He was a Labor Party member of the Victorian Legislative Assembly from 1999 to 2018, representing the electorates of Sunshine (1999–2002), Derrimut (2002–2014) and Tarneit (2014–2018). From December 2014, he was Speaker of the Victorian Legislative Assembly, but was forced to resign in March 2017 for claiming a second house allowance. While entitled to the allowance, it failed the test of public opinion and Languiller was forced to repay the allowance by the Premier. He currently serves as Melbourne Victory FC's director of international relations.

Dylan Wight is an Australian politician who is the current member for the district of Tarneit in the Victorian Legislative Assembly. He is a member of the Labor Party and was elected in the 2022 state election, replacing Sarah Connolly, who transferred to the new seat of Laverton.
