Sarajane Hoare

Sarajane Hoare is a British fashion journalist, director, and stylist who, since the 1980s has worked for British Vogue, Vanity Fair , and Harper's Bazaar . She has been instrumental in developing the career of photographer Herb Ritts, shoe designer Tamara Mellon, and journalist Kate Phelan.

Early life and education

Hoare is British by birth. [1] She studied at the Chelsea College of Arts, London. [2]

Career

Hoare has worked as a fashion director for The Observer , British Vogue, and Glamour ; and as an editor-at-large for Harper's Bazaar and contributing editor to Vanity Fair . In 2010 she was invited to join Town & Country as a guest fashion director for the 2011 Spring issue. [3]

Vogue has described her as a "safari enthusiast", [4] and the Financial Times has described her work as "safari imagery". [5] She is credited with discovering the fashion photographer Herb Ritts, [6] with whom she worked for seventeen years. [7] Another fashion photographer, Mario Testino, cited Hoare and other editors as instrumental in making his career. [8] In 1991 Hoare took on the young Tamara Mellon (co-founder of Jimmy Choo) as an assistant, commenting later that Mellon's eye for a quality shoe had been obvious even then. [9]

As editor and representative of Vanity Fair, Hoare was approached by the Fashion Museum, Bath and asked to select the defining look of 2004 for their Dress of the Year collection. She chose a long evening gown by Tom Ford for Yves Saint Laurent in a Chinese dragon-printed silk, which had been worn on the red carpet by Nicole Kidman to that year's Tony Awards. [10]

Hoare published her first book, Talking Fashion, in 2002, a monograph on the fashion industry. [1]

He has also created images for brands such as Gucci, Burberry, Versace, Michael Kors, Chanel, Stuart Weitzman, Carolina Herrera and Estée Lauder.

Polly Mellen is an American stylist and retired fashion editor. For more than sixty years, she served as the fashion editor at Harper's Bazaar and Vogue. From 1991 to 1999 she was the creative director of Allure. Mellen formally retired from Conde Nast Publications in 1994 and remains a consultant on various projects.

Lizzette Kattan, is a Honduran-born fashion editor that worked between Milan and New York from 1976 until 1986 for Harper's Bazaar Italy, Harper's Bazaar France, Uomo Harper's Bazaar and Italian Cosmopolitan. She collaborated with virtually every major photographer of that period and discovered many of today's most recognizable photographic talent. Once retired from the fashion world Kattan started her diplomatic career as the Commercial Attache of the Honduran Embassy in Rome, in 1990, and eventually becoming the Consulate General of Milan in 2002 until 2007. She currently works as a freelance Stylist for international publications.

Liberty Lettice Lark Ross is an English model and actress. She has appeared in publications such as Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, i-D, and Dazed & Confused. She played the role of Queen Eleanor in the 2012 fantasy film Snow White and the Huntsman, directed by her then-husband, Rupert Sanders. She is the sister of composers Atticus and Leopold Ross.

Anna Harvey became Editorial Director of Condé Nast New Markets in 1997, was former Deputy Editor of Vogue and former stylist and confidante to Diana, Princess of Wales. Her career at Condé Nast Publications has spanned more than 30 years and she was regarded as one of the most significant contributors to the fashion industry.

Lori Goldstein is an American fashion stylist, editor, designer of LOGO by Lori Goldstein for QVC, and author of 'Lori Goldstein: Style Is Instinct'. She has frequently collaborated with photographers Steven Meisel and Annie Leibovitz, creating well-known ad campaigns and editorials. She was also the first agency-signed stylist, signing with Art + Commerce, now a division of IMG.
