Sarakhiyeh (Persian : سراخيه‎, also Romanized as Sarākhīyeh)^[1] is a village in Salami Rural District, Khanafereh District, Shadegan County, Khuzestan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 515, in 74 families.^[2]

Persian, also known by its endonym Farsi, is one of the Western Iranian languages within the Indo-Iranian branch of the Indo-European language family. It is primarily spoken in Iran, Afghanistan, and Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and some other regions which historically were Persianate societies and considered part of Greater Iran. It is written right to left in the Persian alphabet, a modified variant of the Arabic script, which itself evolved from the Aramaic alphabet.

Khanafereh District is a district (bakhsh) in Shadegan County, Khuzestan Province, Iran. The District was created in 2009. At the 2006 census, its population was 24,107, in 3,966 families. The District has one city Khanafereh. The District has two rural districts (dehestan): Naseri Rural District and Salami Rural District.
