Sarcina ventriculi is a bacterial species in the Clostridiaceae family. Phylogenetics have placed S. ventriculi and Sarcina maxima within the genus Clostridium . [2] It has been proposed to be renamed to Clostridium ventriculi in 2016, [3] but ultimately retained its name due to the genus name of Sarcina taking priority over Clostridium. [1] [4]
The Clostridiaceae are a family of the bacterial class Clostridia, and contain the genus Clostridium.
Sarcina is a genus of Gram-positive cocci bacteria in the family Clostridiaceae. A synthesizer of microbial cellulose, various members of the genus are human flora and may be found in the skin and large intestine. The genus takes its name from the Latin word "sarcina," meaning pack or bundle, after the cuboidal (2x2x2) cellular associations they form during division along three planes.
Thermoanaerobacter is a genus in the phylum Bacillota (Bacteria). Members of this genus are thermophilic and anaerobic, several of them were previously described as Clostridium species and members of the now obsolete genera Acetogenium and Thermobacteroides
Coprothermobacterota is a phylum of nonmotile, rod-shaped bacteria.
Syntrophospora bryantii is a species of bacteria belonging to the family Syntrophomonadaceae. It is the only described species in the genus Syntrophospora and has been proposed to be a part of the genus Syntrophomonas instead.
