Sardar Patel University Mandi (formerly Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Cluster University) is an Indian public state university located in the Mandi, Himachal Pradesh on the banks of river Beas. [2] It was established by the Act No. 3 of 2022 of the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly. [3] Having jurisdiction over five districts (Mandi, Kullu, Lahaul-Spiti, Chamba, and Kangra), this affiliating university provides affiliation to about 119 colleges and institutions.

He is the father of politician Anil Sharma and grandfather of actor Aayush Sharma. In 2011 he was sentenced to 5 years in jail for corruption when he was Communications Minister in 1996.

The Bhanupli–Leh line is an under-construction electrified railway track connecting Bhanupli in Punjab state to Leh in Ladakh union territory of India. Once complete, the 489 km (304 mi) long, 1,676 mm wide gauge all-weather track will reduce travel time from New Delhi to Leh to 10 hours. Mandi in Himachal Pradesh is popularly known as "Choti Kashi" due to its resemblance with Kashi. The famous Victoria Bridge of here links Purani Mandi and Mandi town. The majestic ruler of Mandi, Raja Vijay Singh built this mesmerizing bridge with the help of Britishers in 1877. The Bridge reminds the hanging Victoria Bridge on Thames River. It is like stylistic Jhulla bridges but surprisingly it can carry small vehicles. However, as this is a value bridge to Government of Himachal Pradesh, CM Jai Ram Thakur in 2019 built and inaugurated another bridge named Sardar Patel Bridge near Victoria Bridge and it was opened for transport. Victoria Bridge was closed for all means of transport after its 142 years of service.

Hot Weather Football Championship, also known as the All India Hot Weather Football Championship, is an annual Indian football tournament held in Mandi, Himachal Pradesh and organized by All India Hot Weather Football Championship Organising Committee (AIHWFCOC). The tournament was first started in 1970, which was won by Sports School Jalandhar. Apart from some top clubs from Himachal, clubs from other Indian states also have participated in this competition.
