Sattur Colony also known as Sattur is a locality in outskirts of Dharwad city, Karnataka, India. [1] It is mostly known for medical colleges and hospitals like SDM College of medical sciences which is the biggest hospital in North Karnataka region [2] [3]

Sattur is located in Pune-Bangalore Highway which is the most arterial highway of Hubli-Dharwad. Many intercity and long route buses pass through this highway.

SDM College of Medical Sciences situated at Manjushree Nagar, Sattur is one of the biggest medical college in Karnataka. [7] The school offers educational courses in medicine and surgery leading to MBBS degree. The college is run by SDM Educational Society. [8]

SDM College of Dental Sciences is a dental school in Sattur and one of the leading dental colleges in the state.The college offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs. [9]

The college initially started at the campus of S.D.M College of Engineering and Technology and later shifted to its own campus at Sattur in 1990's. It is the examination centre for FRCS in India.

Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences, Hubballi is a medical school in Hubballi, India and is affiliated to the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore, Karnataka. It is one of the oldest government tertiary healthcare centers, and the largest multi-specialty hospital in North Karnataka, recognized by the Medical Council of India. In June 1997, the then Karnataka Medical College was accorded autonomous status and became the Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences, Hubballi.

Indian Institute of Technology Dharwad is an autonomous engineering and technology institute in Dharwad, Karnataka, India. IIT Dharwad started functioning from July 2016 in a temporary campus, previously of the Water and Land Management Institute (WALMI) in Belur Industrial Area, on the outskirts of Dharwad city.
