Sceptrin is a bioactive marine isolate. ^[1] It has been isolated from the marine sponge Agelas conifera and appears to have affinity for the bacterial actin equivalent MreB. ^[2] As such, this compound possess antibiotic potential.^{[ citation needed ]}
