The Scottish Cup is the national ice hockey cup in Scotland. It has been held since 1997.

The Flyers play their home games at Fife Ice Arena in Kirkcaldy which has a capacity of just Over 3000. The arena is home to not only Fife Flyers, who play in the Elite Ice Hockey League but also to Kirkcaldy Junior Ice Hockey Club. Traditionally many of the Flyers' players have come up through the junior ranks to play at a "professional" level.
The Edinburgh Capitals were a Scottish ice hockey club, playing in the UK-wide Elite Ice Hockey League. They were based in the Scottish capital, Edinburgh. The team played at the Murrayfield Ice Rink, close to Murrayfield Rugby stadium.

The British National League (BNL) was the second tier of the professional ice hockey league in the United Kingdom between 1996 and 2005. The Scottish National League was the first ice hockey league in Scotland. It was founded in 1932 by five teams from a single ice rink in Glasgow. The league gradually expanded to encompass teams from many areas of Scotland. It was suspended during the Second World War, but returned in 1946, and for the 1947/8 season was split into two divisions. These reunited the following season, and in 1954 the league merged with the English National League to form the British National League.

It replaced the Scottish National League as the highest level of competition in Scotland behind the Elite League.
