Frances Louise McDormand is an American actress and producer. Known for her portrayals of quirky, headstrong characters, she has garnered numerous accolades throughout her career, including a Tony Award, two Primetime Emmy Awards, and three Academy Awards for her acting, in addition to a fourth Academy Award as producer, making her one of the few performers to achieve the "Triple Crown of Acting". Additionally, she has received two Golden Globe Awards, three British Academy Film Awards, and four Screen Actors Guild Awards. Although primarily recognized for her roles in small-budget independent films, McDormand's worldwide box office gross exceeds $2.2 billion helped by her appearances in Transformers: Dark of the Moon (2011) and Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted (2012).

Catherine Anne O'Hara is a Canadian actress, comedian, and writer. Kannada cinema, also known as Sandalwood or Chandanavana, is the segment of Indian cinema dedicated to the production of motion pictures in the Kannada language widely spoken in the state of Karnataka. The 1934 film Sati Sulochana directed by Y. V. Rao was the first talkie film in the Kannada language. It was also the first film starring Subbaiah Naidu and Tripuramba, and was the first motion picture screened in the erstwhile Mysore Kingdom. The film was produced by Chamanlal Doongaji, who in 1932 founded South India Movietone in Bangalore.

The Screen Awards is an annual awards ceremony held in India honouring professional excellence in Bollywood. The nomination and award selection is done by a panel of distinguished professionals from the industry. The awards were introduced by the Screen film magazine of The Indian Express Group in 1995. The magazine was acquired by Star India in 2015 and subsequently closed down. Though Star India continues to sponsor the awards under the Star Screen Awards title.
Screen Actors Guild Awards are accolades given by the Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA). The award was founded in 1952 to recognize outstanding performances in movie and prime time television. The statuette given, a nude male figure holding both a mask of comedy and a mask of tragedy, is called "The Actor". The 94th Academy Awards ceremony, presented by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), will honor the best films released between March 1 and December 31, 2021, and is scheduled to take place at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California on March 27, 2022. Shortlists of films to compete for nominations in ten categories were announced on December 21, 2021. The nominations will be announced on February 8, 2022. This will be the first time since 2018 that the ceremony will be held in March to avoid conflicting with the Winter Olympics.
