Searsole Raj High School is a high school located in Raniganj, West Bengal, India. Its alumni include Kazi Nazrul Islam, national poet of Bangladesh. [1] [2] It is a Bengali-medium boys only institution established in 1856. It has facilities for teaching from class V to class XII. The school has a library with 3,981 books and a playground. [3]

Kazi Nazrul Islam, popularly known as Nazrul, was a Bengali poet, writer, musician, and is the national poet of Bangladesh. Kazi Nazrul University (KNU) is a public state research university located in Asansol, West Bengal. The CM Mamata Banerjee laid the foundation stone on 10 January 2013. The university has been named after the poet Kazi Nazrul Islam. The university was established under the Kazi Nazrul University Act, 2012. Anuradha Mukherjee was appointed as the first vice-chancellor of the university.
