Sebastian Steyer (born 18 February 1980) is a Polish professional darts player, entrepreneur and former footballer who played as a defender [ citation needed ]. He currently plays in the World Darts Federation (WDF) and occasionally in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. He reached the semi-finals of the 2019 BDO World Trophy.
Steyer started playing darts in 2000. At first he treated it as entertainment, however over time he began to succeed in more serious tournaments. After five years due to business matters, he took a over 10 year hiatus from playing and returned in 2017 with some national success. He tried to play football as a defender in local football club Chemik Kędzierzyn-Koźle, but knee injuries thwarted his plans[ citation needed ]. He won the Opole Regional Championship with his team[ citation needed ].
At the beginning of his international career in 2018, he reached the semi-finals of the Polish Open. Later in the season, he failed to qualify for the PDC World Darts Championship, losing in semi-finals of the Eastern Europe Qualifier. Steyer's successful season allowed him to qualify for the 2018 Winmau World Masters, where he advanced to the fifth round defeating players such as Arwyn Morris, Tokuyo Takayama, Jitse van der Wal and Jason Lovett along the way. In the fifth round match he lost to Richard Veenstra 0–3.
After reaching the quarter-finals at the Hungarian Masters in 2018, Steyer was also able to win prize money at other tournaments and tried his hand at the PDC Q-School for the first time in 2019. Despite two rounds of 16, he was unable to qualify for the PDC Tour Card. In the same year, at the Greek Open, Steyer played his first WDF tournament final, but lost to Thibault Tricole 3–6 in legs. In 2019 he reached the final of the Polish Open, but ultimately lost to Toon Greebe 3–6 in legs. In June, he played in the 2019 Czech Darts Open, but lost in the first round to Chris Dobey 2–6.
Due to his good results, the Pole qualified for the 2019 BDO World Trophy, where he was able to knock-out Ross Montgomery 5–3 in legs in the first round. He was able to scrape a shock 5–4 victory over Scott Mitchell in the second round. In the quarter-finals he beat Roger Janssen 6–4, but ultimately lost in the semi-finals to Richard Veenstra 4–7. In January 2020, Steyer started at the 2020 BDO World Darts Championship. He suffered a 0–3 defeat in the first round match to Mario Vandenbogaerde.
In February 2020, he reached his third WDF tournament final at the Slovak Open, however he lost to Chris Landman 1–6. Local results throughout the 2020 and 2021 season[ citation needed ] allowed him to qualify for the 2022 WDF World Darts Championship. Steyer lost in the first round match to James Richardson 1–3.
Steyer owns a car rental company. His son Marcel plays volleyball for ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle, but he also plays darts [ citation needed ].

Anthony Brown was an English professional darts player. He came close to winning the world championship on a number of occasions, reaching the World Professional Darts Championships semi-finals four times, losing twice to Eric Bristow and twice to John Lowe.
Ross Montgomery, nicknamed The Boss, was a Scottish professional darts player who played in both the World Darts Federation (WDF) and the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC). Montgomery also played American football in his native Scotland, having spent eleven years with Glasgow Diamonds. He was forced to retire through injury and took up the game of darts instead.
