Sem Steijn (born 12 November 2001) is a Dutch professional footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder for Eredivisie club Twente.

Career

Steijn is a youth product of SV KMD and ADO Den Haag. [1] On 27 July 2018, he signed his first professional contract with ADO Den Haag, and was subsequently loaned to VVV-Venlo. [2] He made his professional debut for VVV in a 4–1 Eredivisie loss to Feyenoord on 6 December 2018. [3] In doing so, he became the youngest ever Eredivisie debutant from VVV. [4]

On 8 March 2022, Steijn signed with Twente, officially joining them from 1 July. [5]

Personal life

Steijn is the son of Maurice Steijn, who is a Dutch former footballer and former manager of AFC Ajax. [6]

The 2015–16 season was Feyenoord's 108th season of play, it marked its 60th season in the Eredivisie and its 94th consecutive season in the top flight of Dutch football. It was the first season with manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst, a former player who played seven seasons for Feyenoord and who played 106 times for Dutch national team.
