Synopsis

Shadow follows the story of an ex-cop suffering from congenital analgesia, while taking vigilante justice into his own hands in the criminal underworld of Johannesburg.

Triggerfish is a computer animation film studio based in Cape Town, South Africa and Galway, Ireland. The studio is best known for its animated feature films Adventures in Zambezia (2012), Khumba (2013), and Seal Team (2021), as well as the work they have done on television specials created for UK producers Magic Light Pictures. In 2016, Stick Man was awarded the Cristal for best TV production at the Annecy International Animation Festival. In 2017, Revolting Rhymes again won the Cristal for best TV production at the Annecy Festival, and was nominated for the Best Short Film (Animated) Oscar at the 2018 Academy Awards. In 2019, Netflix announced that Triggerfish would produce its first African animated TV series. In 2020, Zog won the International Emmy for Best Kids Animation. Amanda du-Pont is a Swazi-born South African actress, model and television host. Du-Pont is known for her portrayal of Senna in the CW drama series Life is Wild and Sharon in the SABC 3 comedy-drama Taryn & Sharon. Currently, she stars as Ashley in the Netflix thriller series Shadow. She is known for acting on the SABC 1 soap opera Skeem Saam as Nompumelelo 'Lelo' Mthiyane.

Sithembile Xola Pearl Thusi is a South African actress, model, and presenter. She is known for her roles as Patricia Kopong in the BBC/HBO comedy-drama series The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency, Dayana Mampasi in the ABC thriller Quantico and Samkelo in the romance film Catching Feelings. In 2020, she starred in the title role of Netflix's first African original series, Queen Sono.

Kagiso Lediga is a South African Tswana comedian, actor, writer and director. He is the creator and executive producer of the Netflix crime drama Queen Sono which was released on 28 February 2020. Lediga has written and directed noteworthy television comedies including the cult classic The Pure Monate Show, Late Nite News with Loyiso Gola, and the Bantu Hour. He has played leading roles in the films Bunny Chow, Wonder Boy for President and Catching Feelings.

Shadow and Bone is an American fantasy television series developed by Eric Heisserer for Netflix. It is based on the written works of Leigh Bardugo, and set in the Grishaverse, which consists of the Shadow and Bone trilogy and the Six of Crows duology. All eight episodes of the first season premiered on April 23, 2021. In June 2021, the series was renewed for a second season, also consisting of eight episodes, which premiered on March 16, 2023. In November 2023, the series was canceled after two seasons.

Pallance Dladla is a South African actor. He has received multiple awards and nominations, including the SAFTA Award. Dladla first gained recognition as a runner-up on the second season of Class Act. He lost to eventual winners Abdul Khoza and Tumie Ngumla, whom he later would work with in the SABC1 drama series Tempy Pusha.
