Baramulla, also known as Varmul in Kashmiri, is a city and a municipality in the Baramulla district in the Indian union territory of Jammu and Kashmir. It is largest city of kashmir valley after Srinagar and Anantnag. It is also the administrative headquarters of the Baramulla district. It is on the bank of the Jhelum River downstream from Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir. The city was earlier known as gateway of kashmir, This was main business hub of valley.
