Miss Universe 2006, the 55th Miss Universe pageant, was held on 23 July 2006 at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California, USA. Zuleyka Rivera of Puerto Rico was crowned by Natalie Glebova of Canada at the end of the event. This is the fifth time that Puerto Rico has won Miss Universe. 86 contestants competed for the title.
Agatha Christie's Marple is a British ITV television programme loosely based on the books and short stories by British crime novelist Agatha Christie. The title character was played by Geraldine McEwan from the first to the third series, until her retirement from the role, and by Julia McKenzie from the fourth series onwards. Unlike the counterpart TV series Agatha Christie’s Poirot, the show took a lot of liberties with Christie’s works, most notably adding Miss Marple’s character to the adaptations of novels where she never appeared. Following the conclusion of the sixth series, it was announced that the BBC had acquired the rights for the production of Agatha Christie adaptations, suggesting that ITV would be unable to make a seventh series of Marple.
