Sheykh Baba (Persian : شيخ بابا‎, also Romanized as Sheykh Bābā and Sheykhbābā)^[1] is a village in Gavdul-e Markazi Rural District, in the Central District of Malekan County, East Azerbaijan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 436, in 105 families.^[2]

Persian, also known by its endonym Farsi, is one of the Western Iranian languages within the Indo-Iranian branch of the Indo-European language family. It is primarily spoken in Iran, Afghanistan, and Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and some other regions which historically were Persianate societies and considered part of Greater Iran. It is written right to left in the Persian alphabet, a modified variant of the Arabic script, which itself evolved from the Aramaic alphabet.

Gavdul-e Markazi Rural District is a rural district (dehestan) in the Central District of Malekan County, East Azerbaijan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 26,623, in 6,537 families. The rural district has 20 villages.
